Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I'm with Stephan-I liked TCD on my '21 Vado SL 5 EQ and bought another one when I got my Creo. The TCD gives me all the info I need when I'm pedaling. Yes, the manual for the TCD sucks, especially for us boomers (and those that are farsighted), but I eventually figured it out. It looks like...

    Range Extender Turbo Vado SL

I never saw them listed on the US Specialized website when I was looking for mine about 6 months ago. I got mine through my LBS who ordered it for me. Back then I think the lead time was about 8 weeks but likely different today.

    Range Extender Turbo Vado SL

There was a bag of unused parts that came with my Creo CC. I found a spacer in the bag and used it when I installed the RE bottle holder. Somebody smarter than me suggest that the spacer I used was to install a fender. I don’t have a fender on my bike but if I add one later, I know where the...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I bought my Vado 5 SL EQ because of one very important reason-My LBS had one in stock in my size. If the Vado 4 SL would have been available I probably would have bought it but we were up to our eyeballs in pandemic s**t so I got what I could find. No regrets as waiting to save some money was...

    Range Extender Turbo Vado SL

I have the longer cable for my Vado SL. It is recommended by Specialized and I think the extra length helps get everything situated properly. There’s a little slack but don’t worry because the cable is fairly stiff. I don’t have a Y cable because I have 2 chargers. Even if I only had 1 charger...

Specialized turbo creo sl comp carbon evo puzzling problem

I have the same bike as the OP. I have not experienced this in my roughly 800 miles of use. In all honesty tho I am rarely at that speed in turbo mode. I use sport to go fast (for me) and turbo just to get up a big hill.

Over50's Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5 EQ (& Como SL 5) Chronicles

I have a EVO, but live in the city so I ride it mostly on pavement. I do occasionally get it on gravel when I hit the rail trails or get out of the city. I’m still getting used to riding on gravel and stand on the pedals when it gets bumpy paved or gravel.

Over50's Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5 EQ (& Como SL 5) Chronicles

I use Selle Anatomica saddles on both my Vado SL and Creo CC EVO. They work well with my boney butt . Other parts of my body hurt before my butt on long rides. If I do have any discomfort down there, it always goes away as soon as I get off the bike.

Seatpost rack mount for non-EQ SL

If you are OK with the Vado SL EQ's rack, you could just buy it from a Specialized dealer. It is listed on the spare parts list. It looks like the non-EQ frames have the necessary mounting provisions. The rack bolts to the rear fender so I think you'll need that too and is listed as a spare part.

Need opinions from Creo and Vado SL riders

Dave I posted my comments in our PM string before I saw this thread….looks like there is consensus here. Enjoy the ride. Jeff C

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I have studied this a little more. The mounting pins under the bag are evenly spaced. The seams between the bottom and sides of my Odin bag are not very stiff, especially at the corners. When the bike is leaning on the kickstand, gravity takes over and the bag flops a bit to the side. Even when...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I got an Odin trunk bag for my Vado SL 5 EQ. I did get the mounting prongs moved inward and it mounts fine. However, because the rack is narrow, the bag tends lean in the direction of the rails. It is securely attached, but I'm not too fond of the floppy look.

Installing kickstand on Vado sl 5.0?

Mine was furnished with the bike. Check with a Specialized dealer. They may be able to get one for you as a replacement part for a Vado SL 5 EQ.

2K Miles on my Vado SL 5.0!

Nice looking bike. We both have good taste :0 If Mission Control is informing you that your firmware is up to date you are good. The last update for SLs was in early May and it was painful for many, myself included. I have a Creo too so it was double the pain. My LBS was struggling with the PC...

    Turbo Connect Display - Cadence?

Here are the instructions. Admittedly not the easiest to read. https://media.specialized.com/support/collateral/0000108340.pdf Look at section 5 for customizing the screens. Data field 3 can be set to show cadence.

Firmware Update and Mission Control Problems...

Both my Vado SL and Creo CC had hiccups during the last firmware update. When the Vado was updated by the LBS, their computer indicted the the update was completed. I took it home turned on Mission Control which informed me that updates were available. I rode back up to the shop and they...

Specialized Creo SL Handlebar Remote Buttons

See pages 9-11 of the manual for how to get the cables inside the bike and routed to the Turbo control unit. I think the remote kit includes a new cover for the frame opening. Rincon is correct about the “standard convention” for the up and down power buttons but you can connect them anyway that...

Specialized Creo SL Handlebar Remote Buttons

I had them installed during the initial build up of the bike. I test drove a few variants of the Creo that didn't have the remotes & didn't want to have a Creo without them. Mine are in the same place too & work well there for me.

Specialized Creo SL Handlebar Remote Buttons

https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/2021-creo-road-remote.37394/ Good info here. I had the LBS do the work after I decided where to put the buttons with the help of the thread.
