    6-sensor technology

Excuse me for being skeptical but I guess this is how I learn. Shop attendant that has in depth technical knowledge of their bikes is hard to find.

    6-sensor technology

Yes, they are positive. (torque-a) is a typical minimum value to start any action. (a+cadence) is also a minimum value to allow instant start. There should be none or minimal effect on normal riding. Please note that I'm only trying to learn the technology out there cause I'm shopping for a new...

    6-sensor technology

Thanks again for these additional info. The more I know, the more I don't know (Aristotle). I'm more inclined to Zero cadence feature with a brake cutoff to prevent accidental takeoff and cooking the motor. Including cadence, what do you think about this algorithm? (torque-a) x (b+cadence) =...

    6-sensor technology

Thanks for sharing this info. This could be the reason why I don't feel instantaneous assist during takeoff... Torque x (0) cadence = (0) leg power... That means no assist. Assist will come as you turn the crank few degrees. Is there a way to disable this feature? I understand pedal spinning is...

    6-sensor technology

Torque is measured by the controller to deliver the proportional assist power. I can't figure out how the cadence is used? Please share your know how. PS, thermal sensor I mean is the overheat cutoff not the ambient temperature.

    6-sensor technology

I could use a torque. slope, brake and thermal sensors and appreciate them, cause I understand their function. The manufacturers haven't convince me why I need the others sensors.

Is mid-drive vs hub drive efficiency differential affect by pedaling cadence?

Your right on using the lowest assist level and the lighter weight your carrying will increase your range. One thing I could add is time. The faster you go, the more battery power you consumed.

Who has the Smoothest and Natural Torque Sensor Hub Drive

I'll be happy with a basic ebike with torque PAS without level sensor. Inclusion of inertial sensor is too complex for me to comprehend and appreciate. It reminds me of the "state of the art" marketing statement.

Who has the Smoothest and Natural Torque Sensor Hub Drive

Thanks for the info. I want a simple level sensor that detects if the bike is pointing up or down. The inertial sensor is too complex for that purpose, Besides, I think it can detect up and down movement but not the grade of the road. I'm an old guy with a bad ankle riding an ebike mainly for...

Who has the Smoothest and Natural Torque Sensor Hub Drive

This is how I see natural and smooth torque PAS ebike. When the crank is horizontal, power applied is at maximum. At vertical, power applied is minimum or none. So, it's up and down yet the bike runs continuously not stop and go. that's natural. With torque PAS, the motor assist will mimick...

Who has the Smoothest and Natural Torque Sensor Hub Drive

604 is the area code around Greater Vancouver. I nearly bought this Surface 604 Rook in 2022. I like how it runs but it's just too big for me. The torque sensor is mounted at the dropout..

Pure torque control. Cadence and others if included leads to unnatural ride.

I suspect that few degrees is the substitute for not having brake cutoff. It want to know that your actually pedaling before you get the boost.

Pure torque control. Cadence and others if included leads to unnatural ride.

Latest bosch I tried needs the pedal to turn a few degrees before I feel the boost. That's the same as the others.

fooferdoggie, Seems like your bike behaves like my 2022 generation ebike. If not holding the brake, and you put your feet on the pedal, the assist is instantaneous. How old is your bike? I couldn't find that same behavior in the new generation of ebike.

Pure torque control. Cadence and others if included leads to unnatural ride.

My 1st ebike is a cheap cadence sensing PAS which I didn't like. Now I have a 64lbs bike with hub motor, bb torque sensor and brake cutoff. that gives me instantaneous power assist during start. Late last year I tried looking for a lighter ebike. I test ride Velotric T1 plus, Aventons...

    Ebikeschool.com epic China visit

As you visit Lishui controller factory could you share some info on modern controller design. what are the inputs and other parameters. They're not using brake cutoff anymore.. How does cadence and other sensors inclusion in a torque PAS improve the ride? I've test ridden some known brands and...

Pure torque control. Cadence and others if included leads to unnatural ride.

I wrote this Pure Torque Sensor title hoping to get some information from the designers, programmers or technician who works on ebike controllers. Give us some details how cadence and other sensors can improve the ride. Why can't they fix the lagging power delivery during start?

Pure torque control. Cadence and others if included leads to unnatural ride.

If you pedal smoothly you'll have a smooth ride. Adding other sensors and tricks to control the motor is artificial. Cadence and speed should be on readout only.

I am for a bike that will accurately respond to my feet demand. A good torque sensor and a proportional controller is all I need. Take the cadence or speed out of the equation.
