    Crosscore rc rear rim/ speedometer

How did you resolve your issue? How can the motor turn off at 16 mph if it can't detect your speed? I just purchased a new rear wheel for my Yamaha CrossCore. I fit the Yamaha magnet assembly in the disc centerlock area and all seemed fine. BUT a few seconds into the test ride the display...

Need to choose hub compatible with Civante speed sensor

The original rear wheel has a centerlock disc brake rotor. That centerlock area holds the speed sensor. I purchased a new wheel (700C rim with 22mm interior width, 12x142, thru-axle, centerlock disc) with a Shimano FH-M8010 hub. I needed to cut down by 2-3 mm the plastic tabs (legs) on the...

Using Haibike PW-SE motor in CrossCore

On ebay a seller has new Yamaha PW-SE motors that were meant for Haibike ebikes. Can I put one of those motors into my Yamaha CrossCore bike with an increasingly noisy PW-SE motor? Are all the connectors the same? It seems the speed delimiter devices only work on the PW-SE motors in non-Yamaha...

Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Step-through: Checklist for LBS assembly and setup?

I put a short stem and slightly higher handlebars (55 mm rise) on mine. I have tried stem risers before but really prefer just getting higher handlebars.

Specialized Tero 3.0 or Aventon Ramblas for “all purpose” e-bike?

Excellent choice to go with the Cube Kathmandu EXC 750!!! That's the bike I wanted to buy but there was no dealer near me. Happy for you and a bit envious.

Specialized Tero 3.0 or Aventon Ramblas for “all purpose” e-bike?

You can add a lot of comfort to the Aventon without spending much money. Try different (higher) handlebars and/or stem. Cost would be around $30. for bars and $25 for a stem on eebay or amzon. Bars with 50-70 mm rise would put you more upright and still be fine for trails.

Cross Core Mechanical Disc Brake Upgrade Suggestions

I upgraded my Yamaha CrossCore to Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes. I installed them without too much difficulty and love them. You can find a set on ebay for $50. You also need mounting adapters (ebay $20 total) plus a bleed kit ($15) and a little mineral-type brake oil. Routing the rear brake...

Brought a new Vado 5.0 home today!

Here is my review of my new Vado 5.0 after a couple weeks and 200 miles. Pros: -The front shocks are very nice. Makes me wish I had rear suspension too. -Speed is fine. I am able to go 20+ mph even at 60% power assist. -Being able to program the 3 power assist levels is a great feature. -I...

    Cross Core Experience Welcome

I have an extra assembly that mounts on the rear wheel hub for determining speed. I hoped I could modify it to double the allowed top speed. Unfortunately, I don't know which metal pickups (little balls in the plastic) I can remove. There are two balls close together, a big space, 2 close balls...

    Cross Core Experience Welcome

For the past couple weeks I have had both my old (2020) Yamaha CrossCore and my new $5000 Specialized Vado 5.0. I am having buyers remorse and am now liking the CrossCore more than the Specialized !!! My modified CrossCore weighs in at 44.0 pounds. The Vado 5.0 is 57.6 pounds. The CrossCore...

    Cross Core Experience Welcome

I think the Yamaha CrossCore RC is a good value. Those Shimano MT200 brakes are nice - I put those on my CrossCore. The Trek Allant+7 is a comparable bike and that is over $4000. Both have spring forks. Spring forks are a bit heavier than air forks but never leak air. The CrossCore RC is a...

    Yamaha Cross Core Brake Issue

The rear brake cable does seem to have a tortured path to the back. I was tempted to route the cable externally. Instead I installed Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes with semi-metallic pads. Wow, what a step up in smoothness and stopping power. Routing the tubing through the frame members took me...

500w+ motor / integrated battery / belt drive?

The Zen Samurai seems very very nice except for the short top tube length. The top tube length ("reach") spec appears to be shorter than other bikes. I am wondering if I would very upright and not be able to stretch out at all.

E-Lux Tahoe GT reviews and/or feedback?

Elux bikes seem fun and reliable. A friend has had a Elux Malibu GT for over two years and put on many miles. He is almost through his second set of tires. The front brake pads wore out and the front brake pistons were a little sticky. That was the extent of the issues. I maintain it for him and...

    Cross Core Experience Welcome

what stem are you using? I have carbon fiber bars with 20 degree backsweep and went with a 120 mm 17 degree stem. I am thinking of going to a 120 mm 6 degree Kinekt stem to smooth the ride. I will say the carbon fiber bars and 40 mm tires have reduced the shock level a good amount.

    Cross Core Experience Welcome

I just put Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes on my CrossCore and am very happy with the result. They make brake use so much easier than the stock units. Cost was $60 through ebay plus additional dollars for flat mount-to-post adapters, a simple bleed kit, and inserts-olives for the hose end. I cut...

Yamaha (YPJ) cross core \ cross connect speed limit mod sold in Japan

adeptpowersports.com appears to have part # X1M-8352Y-00 in stock for $16. My Yamaha CrossCore has a sensor ring with 8 sensors not evenly spaced around the ring. There are 4 groups with 2 in each group. I am contemplating drilling-prying out two groups of sensors to see if (1) my bike still...

    Class 3 commuters

I am hoping the Specialized (Brose) Vado motor is just as nice as the Yamaha. For 2022 Specialized did change the belt and programming so the motor won't fail like the 2019 and 2020 models. I also look forward to the air suspension forks, roomier frame, and 28 mph limit. Brakes aren't a factor...

I have a 2019 Yamaha CrossCore with the Yamaha PW-SE motor. A nice motor but the medium frame has a top tube too short for me.

That's good to hear Speedbox 2.0 works for your Urban Rush. On the website there are 2 versions for Speedbox 2.0. The first is "Speedbox 2.0 for Yamaha PW (Until 2018)". It states "BE CAREFUL! This chip is not compatible with the following motors: PW-SE, PW-X, PW-TE, PWX2 a PW-ST". The second...
