    The Tariff Questions?

He only mentioned the Mexico stuff in his pre-election speech (probably because there were recent announcements.) With a few exceptions, components come from many countries (many not mfg'd in Deere facility). There are a few tractors that are imported from Germany. Most full machines are for...

    The Tariff Questions?

Reference my post #18: we were asked for % US content. No one ever asked where the rest came from. Things may have changed since I did it ~16 years ago.

    The Tariff Questions?

That was pretty negative! He campaigned on 60% China, 20% eveywhere else; I don't doubt those numbers. Also has threatened a few US companies directly with heavy tariffs on stuff moved to Mexico for manufacture. I recall him saying Deere Tractors; either he mis-spoke or just wanted to sound...

    The Tariff Questions?

I agree. I was a member of the team that determined "content %" for US government and export sales. Don't recall who wanted which way, but I recall % by $ and % by weight. I also remember Manufactured in USA and Assembled in USA terminology.

    The Tariff Questions?

Lots of countries in Asia besides China. Do you think a Netherland mfg'd bike will get China tarriffs applied to it when imported to US if it has China purchased components?

    The Tariff Questions?

Some really quick searching indicates this will be a bigger problem for less expensive brands (China as a supplier); which is the intent of higher tariffs on Chinese products. I don't see it as an issue for Gazelle. I just looked at components for the electrical system for our van I'm buying...

    The Tariff Questions?

#1 buy american whenever possible #2 on another forum, a member was a clothing importer (Russia) and described what a 10% tariff would mean to consumers; basically nothing. He indicated a ~25% tarrif would force him to increase prices. Basically on higher margin items, importers would eat the...

Guys who ride step through bikes...

I make my step-through look more masculine by riding it. Never have had that comment; but my wife would kick the crap out of anyone that said it.

Nightly protest bicycle ride in China, by students about their economy, since the U.S. election.

The string title implies there is a connection to our election; there isn't. Do you post "click bait" on YouTube also?

What am I missing in the article? What is the connection to the strings' title?

My apologies, I thought what happened was humorous.

Some negative reactions to my congratulations post. You do realize candidates from all parties had success. Civility is a good thing. (Almost as good as a Republican (soon to be) trifecta)

    Are We Condemned to Strava?

My son and granddaughter us Strava. They both mountain bike compete so use it daily to watch progress. Cool idea tracking trips. We hike a lot but track on Polar Beat to record activity in Fitness Pal where we track nutrition and health info. i could see using it as bragging rights back in...

    Are We Condemned to Strava?

I have a belt now. In the past, I have never replaced a chain that I recall. The ebike is the 4th bike I've owned in 50 adult years. I'd guess the highest mileage was the touring bike that did RAGBRI and pre-conditioning twice; finally donated it a few years ago. I'd bet it had less than 5K...
