I have no doubt that my LBS is small time local town variety. The problem is these bikes should also leave the factory built right and working. Which, in this case, it clearly wasn’t. If your new bike is the IGH, run screaming. If it is chain, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Not one close enough to justify. If I am going that far, I can explore other brands as well. I am not sure how much benefit any LBS is with the IGH models. A larger one might have parts on hand so it’s not a delivery every time they try something to fix it. But, there just isn’t the knowledge...

My wife and I went on our first ride together. Her bike is not fixed. I believe it was 17.5 miles. We were planning on the standard loop, but once we got to town we decided to nearly double the ride by going up into the mountains on the way home. It was a really good ride, but my wife brakes...

Hey!… wait, no, this checks out. ;) I would settle for a bike that works on delivery at this point. My expectations have been reduced.

Ironically, specialized is *easily* the most accessible version of this. Technically, the "equivalent" of what has been said above can be programmed on my flx blade 2.0 on the bafang m620 via the eggrider. But actually doing it is crazy different. On bafang, you can technically program each of...

I really did not feel like riding today given the bike drama. But I made myself do my standard loop. This loop is getting a bit too easy except for the climb home. I just went into turbo for that part, but this time just casually pedaled home instead of high tailing it. On the way back I stopped...

Honestly, my wife is leaning toward a return and if she does, I am as well. My wife wants to buy a roll low entry and ditch the long ride and just use it as a family rail trail bike. I am considering the vado SL again. If I am not going to ride with my wife, a fun, fast chain bike could be great.

So, they are replacing the wiring harness…. *sigh*

Honestly, the default sport at 75% is a bit much a lot of the time. On my old bike I sometimes used: 20/20-50/50-100/100. But now, I think eco would be low enough that I would spend too much time in sport for "normal" riding. And sport at that setting would definitely have put me in turbo at the...

Yet another nearly 14 mile ride in. It was 45 when I left so I went fully covered (no sandals! :( ). Good choice. It was a fantastic ride. One down side: the roads are way worse than they were last year. Those pot holes were out to get me. First dirt road ride on the new vado. I have ridden all...

This is what it shows. It should be noted, my only other preset has 20% in eco instead of 35%. So if it was on that, it is even better. I haven’t adjusted anything on this bike yet in terms of power/tuning.

Fun update on a bunch of stuff. Took the vado for the first real ride yesterday. It's my standard 10ish mile loop. I forgot how obnoxious the garmin 1040 is on a specialized bike (spoiler: it's still obnoxious). Also, apparently there is currently a syncing bug so getting your rides to sync at...

Yeah, it’s just silly. In my case the factory installed the cranks wrong. The shop just added to it by also reversing the pedals. These were the included platform pedals, so no clip issues. Although, my wife was complaining about grip on them. Maybe they aren’t symmetrical.

Gonna try and go for the first real ride on the vado today. See if there are any problems there. I hope not. I am done with bike problems for the time being.

No, but the cranks are attached. At least that is what I was told.

I am selling my blade 2.0 if you are anywhere near vermont.

Only if you force it. When one way is correct it tends to catch immediately. I also always start on the right pedal so if clockwise doesn’t work immediately and I wasn’t sure of the pedal, I switch. I thought I was going crazy today as I knew which pedal was which.

Totally with you. But when I do it I often just grab a pedal and try both ways until it threads. I only noticed because these particular pedals were clearly marked and I have moved these pedals myself several times as they are my favorite pedals. Interestingly, the specialized marking was hard...

I work in I.T. I am the one that solves weird problems. But, yeah, the specialized experience has been ridiculous. I am the first to admit I am an opinionated customer with high expectations. But crank arms installed on the wrong sides is just crazy. Anyway, that can/will be fixed. But the lack...
