How Does Your Lectric XP Compare to Bigger Wheeled Bikes (26" and Over)?

To be honest, a 4" fat tire, 20" diameter is like wrestling with the bike compared to a 27.5 or 29" diameter 2.75" wide tire...not to mention the larger tires have much less wear and tear per mile and last a hell of a lot longer and the bikes themselves are much lighter. IMO there is no reason...

Has anyone converted to a skinny rim/tire setup?

The move to 3" tires by Lectric is spot on right. In fact, IMO 4" tires only make sense if going on sand and snow is your thing and I'm willing to bet that 98% of buyers are not into that. Also, I'm also willing to bet that most Lectric owners don't fold their bikes (especially once you add...

Is the new XP really BLUE? It sure looks blue to me!

Sounds like my neighborhood...you can't get 2 people to agree on what day it is.

Swap wheels to smaller rim size?

Doesn't the version 2 bike have a completely different fork (that's sized to the new 3" tires/wheels?). I doubt its just a matter of buying the new 3" tires and wheels. The rear is even more complicated because you now have a motor included in the equation. If the Lectric guys were truly looking...

Lectric XP 2.0 w/ Thorough Review (link @ the beginning of the post)

The real question thus becomes regarding folks who bought version 1...will they be able to "upgrade" their bikes to version 2 specs...namely the front fork and 3" wheels w/tires? You just know these upgrade posts are going to come fast and furious...which brings us to the next question...IF you...

    Frame lock fail

Truth is...its a piss poor design. The ORIGINAL design was much better which included an extra step of pushing a slider pin into position to lock the handle securely and TIGHT against the frame. Obviously some early buyers were bitching about a 2 step process to lock the handle...so in their...

    Charging port plug

Its a joke..they should of just made a slide-over cover instead.

    11 -34 freewheel

There must be a thousand videos on how much of an improvement changing the freewheel makes. Why do you suppose that after 2 years and 30,000 bikes later...Lectric refuses to make this change on new models? It surely can't be cost.

What's the acceptable temperature range for keeping bike in outdoor shed?

I've had an electric car for years outdoors in the North East with no problems even in zero degree weather and it has 100s of cells, and they are LG cells. I doubt the battery in the XP is so bad that it just goes to hell when it gets really cold...but I could be wrong on Lectric's claim of...

    Lectric XP Motor Torque

There is a video out there somewhere of a guy who owns BOTH and he races his son who is on an XP..and it wasn't even close...his son on the XP left the RAD in the dust easily...the XP is lighter, smaller, and Lectric was smart to only publish their LOW end motor specs (not the peak output like...

    Replacement controller options?

It will be very interesting to see what happens after the warranty period is up (or voided by "messing around") for those who still think buying an "inexpensive" bike upfront saves them money long term once the cheaper grade electrical components and motors start to fail. You gotta cut costs...

Seat tube 31.8mm dia. vs 31.6mm post dia.

If you want a perfect fit...buy the 27.2 SunTour seat post and also order a Cane Creek 27.2-31.8 spacer. Thats my setup. For the record...I accidentally bought a 31.6 seat post a few moths ago...did it fit..? well I could tighten it down but it eventually worked loose to the point of no return...

    Lectric XP with out-of-round wheel

If you believe Lectric that your problem is normal...what does that tell you? Take it to a pro bike shop ASAP or your problems will only accelerate. They will find more things out of whack that you think are OK. It will be the best $60 you can spend. Don't even mess with them anymore about it...

    Lectric Step Thru

Please, no more unboxing videos. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. No assembly required, we get it. I guess the whole fascination is that if you get one that's actually not damaged, its newsworthy. Lets make a new goal...only cute females can post unboxing videos from now on.

Let's design an inexpensive work stand for the XP

I prefer to work on the bike upside down using the handle bar jacks. It makes for the most stable scenario if the back is supported on the back rack (and not the seat). It puts everything right up where you want it. You don't even need the handle bar jacks. Foam blocks from shipping boxes work...

    Non clumsy battery removal?

Its clear by the design of the bottom key, and the placement of the battery...that Lectric really doesn't want you to be able to easily remove or install the battery, unlike other eBikes where the battery is external and takes about 3 seconds to take out or install...by a blind person no less. I...

Ramp to roll bike into car suggestions?

I suggest looking for a cheap fold-up doggie ramp on Amazon. Its nice because you can take it with you and unload the bike easily. Home made ones are usually rigid and yes you can load the bike...but once you leave your home, then what? Having a portable ramp makes the most sense.

Let's design an inexpensive work stand for the XP

I mean seriously...what good is a conventional bike stand when you have a 63# bike to lift at least a foot or more off the ground BEFORE you actually clamp it to the stand? There are ways but it ain't easy. This idea is something that makes so much sense. You can buy one of those cheap harbor...

    BMX'd my Lectric XP

I have to chuckle...Swagtron makes a full front and rear suspension folding 20" fat tire bike (model EB8)...with those same handlebars for $799. It actually looks much better than the modified Lectric projects.
