    201 bms im balance

My bike is still in the shop and they tried the firmware update and it didn't work. They've ordered a new range extender battery to replace it under warranty and hopefully that will be it. Again, I hope this problem doesn't reoccur. The range extender is nice but if it isn't reliable...

Is anything new with Orbea Gain 2020?

Someone posted a power curve for the Ebikemotion system. It clearly shows the power tailing off before 20 mph. If I find it, I will repost it.

Is anything new with Orbea Gain 2020?

I don't think that will work with a hub motor because of the power curve. The power falls off as you approach 20 mph. They need to go with a bottom bracket motor like the Specialized Creo to make Class 3 practical with this bike.

Is anything new with Orbea Gain 2020?

I just got this in an email from Orbea Gain’s new motor (EBIKEMOTION X35 PLUS) is the heart of the bike and the key component behind the Enough Energy concept. Its sophisticated transmission system provides smooth, balanced and reliable pedaling assistance that improves your rides without...

    201 bms im balance

Same error on my bike. I disconnected the bottle battery and the error code goes away, so I assume it's that battery that is the problem. I had the battery for almost a year. Bike shop is backed up and it will be 2-3 weeks before they can even look at it. Seems to be a frequent problem with...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I'm not sure why you think the Creo has more power. Comparing the motor specs, the Fazua has more torque and power. As a minimum, I would expect them to perform similarly.

    Tubeless tyres

From what I've read in other forums, these tires are really hard to mount/dismount, especially on Mavic UST rims. I would not recommend them. If you don't like the Mavic tires, I read that the Hutchinson Fusion 5 tires are a good fit. Personally, I like the Mavic tires.

    Tubeless tyres

I'm running my Gain tubeless with the Mavic UST tires that came with it. I wore out the rear tire already and replaced it with the same make/model tire. I've had several punctures in the rear tire, but all sealed out on the road without having to put in a tube. There was some spraying of the...

    Gain Range Extender

Anyone know where to buy a battery retention rubber strap online? Mine is all cracked and thus ready to break. The LBS is a long drive away and I'm thinking they would have to order one anyway.

Known Issues & Problems with Orbea Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Karl, when you load the app and connect to the bike you will see an error code with an explanation. Someone else in one of the other threads had a similar problem. Check it out. It was a bad cell in the auxiliary battery.

Known Issues & Problems with Orbea Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I haven't used the app in a while. I would think Pow is power in watts. This is what I wrote more than a year ago. Rpm is motor rpm. "I noticed something today riding my bike with the app. I set to assist to Level 0 (no assist), and while pedaling under 20 mph, the motor rpm was 200-250 (same...

    Orbea Gain E-Road Bike

I would look to a bottom bracket motor bike. The Gain doesn't work that well at low and high speeds because of the hub motor. I've been on 15% grades at max power and am only doing about 5 mph. It helps but bogs down at slow speeds. I have to preface this by saying that I've not ridden a bike...

Gain D30 - intermittent power drop out

Maybe your cadence is uneven, and you actually stop pedaling when you are standing for a small part of the pedal stroke, and that's what's causing the problem. If it doesn't happen when you are seated pedaling, than I believe that's the issue.

    Gain Range Extender

Seems reasonable if it doesn't happen with the aux battery detached.

    Gain Range Extender

I don't see a purple light described in the manual. There's a pink light, which indicates there is a fault. Have you tried connecting the phone app to the bike? Maybe it will tell what the problem is. Otherwise, I think you're going to have to go to the dealer.

A blue light means you have a notification on your phone while connected via Bluetooth. Do you have your phone connected to the bike?

    Gain D-30 observations

What I do is when the indicator on the aux is orange and I'm not on a really long ride where I need to use up both batteries, I turn off the aux battery. It's better for battery life to not drain down the battery too much.
