    *BBS02B* Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay * an Excellent Motor Refinement *

Fair enough. The reduction in slow start may have helped the problem. I did accelerate the bike above 25 mph then reduced the gearing and power level and pedaled softly as the bike fell below 20 mph. The power did come is a bit sooner. Time will tell. I will ride today. As for the other...

    *BBS02B* Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay * an Excellent Motor Refinement *

I read through every post before I posted. Yes you started out with a discussion of stop decay but put it in conjunction with low start mode as working better together. In the above quote you seem to indicate to start with the slow start mode instead of the stop decay. I can play with both...

I am not sure from reading your posts what exactly is the improvement you are seeing with this change. I am willing to...

China Is Gobbling Up All The World's Lithium

Lithium is not an uncommon element in the earths crust. It is light so its near the surface. Third world has always had a problem with tramp element quality in raw metals production that creates recall disasters and spoils their pudding. Eventually big investment will jump in and meet the...

    *BBS02B* Settings/Pedal Assist/Stop Decay * an Excellent Motor Refinement *

No but then I have a heavy fat bike and the watts at PAS-1 are about 75 battery watts and PAS-2 is around 125 watts. Unassisted I can pedal about 10-11 mph and at PAS-1, I can pedal 13-14mph, PAS-2 I can pedal at 14-16 mph. My power jumps correspond to about 2 mph jumps. With a tailwind I...

I found the approach to be far better for melding with non e bikers in a group ride. I also found it easier on battery usage

This is a neat thread that I did not see earlier. I don't visit this forum that often. I am reading with interest but unsure of exactly what is being done as my software or firmware is a bit different. I have a 2016 BBSHD that has not been updated. I am unaware of any updated that are...

    New build today.

Today I built a bike for a friend. The donner bike is a 2021 Giant LIV with 30 miles on it. Delivery on the bike was Thursday and I said I would build it today. She wanted it to keep up with her husband on road rides through Amish country. She is the youngest rider in our Mon-Wens-Fri...

How fast will your bike go?

Let me get this straight. Your saying ride on the opposite side of the road facing oncoming traffic. In this state you have narrow lanes, no shoulders and deep ditches.

How fast will your bike go?

I wonder how many of you posters have actually gone out there in traffic and tried to go28mph + I found out pretty quickly that its much more dangerous trying to go faster thinking that you will match traffic much better. The general driving public is on autopilot and not ready for you to be...

How fast will your bike go?

I have a 52 volt 49ah battery and BBSHD setup. I top out at 29 mph where the power drops off unless I am going up hill. That speed is just fine with me. Its a bicycle with bicycle components. Not a motorcycle. Probably not really safe with the type of helmet I have, even at 29..

How many gears do you really need & use?

I have a BBSHD 52 volt with a 42 tooth front chainring. I need all 11 gears on my e fat bike. I have an 11 X 46 tooth cassette.

    Great American rail trail

I would do custom work on an e bike to gain a long distance e bike touring buddy. They are as rare as hens teeth. I can engineer and build just about anything you could think up.

Above is the old hitch and the new hitch and goes on the same 8mm pin. Next is the shock/rear wheel mount change to a longer piece to drop the bed down. Front lower yoke lengthening.

These ebikes are tougher than we think.

That is a mud flap that goes from the top of the battery to under the motor and keeps all the crap off the electrics. Those lights were not good for group night rides. Nobody considered it night anymore. Each lamp is 2000 lumens

These ebikes are tougher than we think.

I had these babies on my bike last winter. They are LED but the cockpit was cluttered and they pulled 35 watts at 52 volts . Bright Here is low beams at 75 yards Here is high and low beams at 75 yards.

These ebikes are tougher than we think.

With a rating of IP 54 I would hesitate to take it on a gravel road or in much rain. I have an IP 65 rating on mine and avoid rain if possible. My display is barely waterproof where your display is essentially waterproof.
