    Goodbye to WattWagons & Helios

I think the downside of running an OPM business model is rearing its ugly head. Its not just Watt wagon or Pushkar. I get the sense that the whole eBike distribution platform is based on the OPM. Your "brand" needs your money so they can give a factory a big enough order. Anyway, it will...

Welcome to Ebike Touring & Travel Forum!

Never biked the Trace but have camped and driven it. We are currently in the Badlands with all the beauty and severe weather one could want. Lost our bike cover Tuesday night around 12 midnight. Bikes were drenched and the storm ( typical) was intense. I let them dry out all yesterday and they...

Ecotric 20" fat tire folder ( dolphin step through)

Not sure what people expect from a sub-$1000 eBike. I figured about 1000-1400mi. We are not quite there yet. If we get to the 1000 mile mark for what we spent I'm ok. At the point of extreme failure I will decide if going the replace components makes sense or upgrading.

Inspired by a couple of Swedes...

I think you said you have someone who can pick you up (retriever) so after a shakedown go for it. My only comment is the BRP is very stressful when sharing it with autos. I use it to get to the VA in Asheville and it freaks me out watching cars and bicyclists trying to occupy the same space (...

The 4 greatest rock bands ever

Doors 10 Years After Zeppelin Temptations I have seen all but the Doors live. I actually consider the Doors my all time favorite band, they still hold up to this day. Their Strange Days and Morrison Hotel albums were my soundtrack in RVN. (:

Known Issues & Problems with ECOTRIC Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Just asked my wife and she uses the throttle to get her initial start as she mounts the seat for a ride because it will eleviate the "jump". Also she said she is totally use to the 3 PAS controller and did not want the HarryS modification. She also said she pedals/coasts when on a crowded bike...

Do you wear a mask when you ride?

I doubt we will ever return to a pre Covid society. This era will define much of how we think, no different then the depression and WW2 defined our parents. Of course one defined grace and wisdom the other embarrassment (:

2021 Giant Explorer E+ 2 GTA Review (North American)

Glad to hear your both pleased. I have been looking at the Giant Explore as a step up from my "fattie" My wife and I both had Giant Sedona's and loved them. Their extensive dealer base seems like a major plus for owning an eBike they market.

8500 miles in a year hard to believe.

I'm impressed! Thats a lot of time on your bike(s). We ride more in Fl than here in NC but thats not saying much. I hope to expand this year with a Mickleson Trail and the Great American Tobacco trail. We tend to section ride the more interesting stretches rather than adding completions. Now...

Do you wear a mask when you ride?

My wife and I, both fully vaxed (pfizer), carry masks for indoor use. We no longer wear them outside unless it feels appropriate to do so. We wear them if it makes others feel more comfortable. I'm not sure how much longer we will follow this policy. To my way of thinking we are almost at a...

    Electric Tandem Bike

No doubt it takes practice to ride efficiently on a tandem, I thought my wife and I were able to actually ride it pretty well from the get/go. Why? No idea. I think an eTandem would be cool on R2T. Two bikes are far more practical.

    Electric Tandem Bike

I always thought the Schwinn tandem mtb'ish that use to run about $500 ( now around $800) was perfect candidate to DIY. My wife and I rented an acoustic tandem and rode it around Sanibel Island for a weekend years ago and did great together. Although I think it would be ackward on the back of...

    Average age of EBR riders

I do believe the Fact is, the majority do age and get old. Your referring to a youthful outlook and attitude. I say this because I'm always told I'm immature by a wife who is younger and has been for almost 30 years. The challenge nowdays is to get her to understand there are simply things my...

No doubt you can over research and end up missing miles of fun ☺️

Retired and 75, should I get an ebike?

Gotta hope CL overall is more impressive than their Winter Garden location. I wouldn't buy anything there.

Retired and 75, should I get an ebike?

I think if the $ support it the Giant is a great value. My next will be an Explore I think. That said, the Lectric or Ecotric is a way to get, my 15 month opinion, a great value for the money. My wife loves her 20" Ecotric Dolphin Folder ( step thru, shes 5'4). You can get the Ecotric via...

Never had to return bikes but their customer service, for the few times I used them, were great. If I purchased again I would use WM, thanks for that tip HarryS!

Known Issues & Problems with ECOTRIC Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Did you get the throttle working? You would have to talk to a bike shop but I would think you could trim the seat stem and bottom of the seat post if your talking very minimal.
