The Trunk bag has the adapter plate built into it so to answer your question yes. You will need MIK compatible bags with built in plate or the adapter to put on your own bag. I added one to a milk crate and use it for larger items.

I have a MIK rack with the Trunk bag it works fine but my seat post is fully extended no experience with the panniers.

I bought this vintage milk crate and added the MIK adapter plate it locks on to the MIK rack and works great.. Have a cargo net I use with it if its a big load. Don't have the finished basket pic with it being painted. Need to get a small vanity plate to hang on it.
