Looking at Electra Loft Go -- but getting lost down the online rabbit hole.

I have to say, as a person in my early 60’s with back issues, and not in the best of shape, I think it’s really important that you try out bikes, take your time, and make sure that you and your wife can easily get on and off the bike, as well as start and stop. You’ll be riding a LOT more...

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Nothing gorgeously Scenic, but it’s the Pacific Electric Bike trail in Southern California. Several miles of a bike freeway, that’s lighted and has signaled crossings. It’s fun to ride on weekends when lots of people are out. This is the Upland portion

Let's Develop a cycling club policy on e-road bikes

I don’t know if this has anything with these clubs insisting on rules. In any case, this accident and lawsuit had nothing to do with e-bikes. Maybe the safety concern is that people will be drawn to the group who don’t have the skills to ride at speed. But you don’t need an e bike to cause a...

Learning to ride and ride and ride

I thought it might help to pass along a few things I’ve learned. I’ve been like the Girl with The Red Shoes- can’t stop riding. Even if it’s an ebike you can still wear yourself out. When I’m very tired physically, I start to get clumsy, my brain shuts down, and I make dumb mistakes. Even on an...

Abus Bordo GRANIT X Plus 6500

I have the Bordo 6000. Sorry for the misunderstanding. My fault. I can’t link to it because it keeps going to my personal Amazon account. It was recommended on another fat tire bike forum and I believe that it is 110cm.

Abus Bordo GRANIT X Plus 6500

I don’t have the Radrover but I do have Raleigh Lore- I’ll attach picture. It’s an mtb style bike with large tires. The Bordo xl fits around a frame, rear wheel, and standard bike rack post with lots of room to spare.

2021 Class 3 Commuter Ebikes Thread: A Comprehensive Listing

I was taught to ride 30 years ago by a road cyclist. It seems like for them, momentum is all. Crom forbid you should ever have to stop, or worse, put a foot down. With my ebike, if I have to stop for pedestrians or stop sign at the bottom of an uphill, so what? Just start pedaling and kick it up...

    Hello from Arizona

I’m around your age, and have back issues. I can’t walk very far, but can ride a bike. I don’t weigh as much as you, but I’m no lightweight, either. I’m just thinking that a two wheeled ebike would give you more flexibility and freedom. The wide tired ones have a lot of stability, and as I...

    Hello from Arizona

Maybe a two wheeled comfort or cruiser style where Desert Bear could easily put 2 feet on the ground while seated in the saddle? Are some of the Pedegos like that?

Bulls Cross Lite, Cube Access or...?

I have back problems and Propel bike shop set up my Raleigh Lore for me like this: Higher stem, swept back handlebars, and Terry Women’s touring saddle (designed for more upright ride). I’m very happy with it. The Lore has gone up $500 in price recently, but is still a great deal.

    Suntour suspension seatpost

I say this as someone who bought a hard tail: when you’re going at speed, you’ll feel the bumps in the road much more. Get the more expensive seatpost. Your nether parts will thank you.

    Insurance for Electric Bikes

Thank you, that’s how I took it to read. A bike with a throttle can’t exceed 20mph under throttle power.

    28 mph is FAST!

This does help. It explains why simply adding a motor and battery to a conventional bike frame does not a good e bike make. It also explains why the LBS where I bought my bike recommended that I buy a suspension seatpost(I have decent quality front shocks). I wish I’d listened now.

    28 mph is FAST!

Absolutely- if you think about the skills a road cyclist acquires- being able to ride in a pace line, holding a line through a turn, doing an emergency stop without pitching over the front handlebars, etc. it comes from years of riding, and learning from other cyclists.

    28 mph is FAST!

Thank you. I like speed, but I’m a cautious person by nature. I have a 28 mph bike, but the fastest I’ve gone so far was 23mph downhill with a following wind. It feels as if I accidentally hit a good sized bump I could be bounced right off the bike. I’m not saying nobody should ever go that...

    How To Judge Quality

That’s a good point. While I don’t expect the same lifespan out of my new Raleigh e bike, my niece is still riding a 20 something year old Trek hybrid that I gave her several years ago. It was hit by a car once ( luckily, nobody was hurt). The LBS is happy to keep it on the road.

Throwing your leg over an E-Bike

If you pedal a lot, you might want to watch out for that. I was having some knee soreness and was lectured by a Lycra Road Bike Warrior about having my seat too low. I’d adjusted it that way because I also wanted to put my feet down. He was right, I moved the seat up and it felt much better...

Boschs Purion - "Change Display Battery"

K Ch K Chris. In the meantime it’s gorgeous out and I’m going for a short ride w/ my generic batteries. I’ll swap them out for yours the minute they get here. Your person in Brooklyn who followed up with me was extremely helpful btw. Sorry I didn’t get his name. Happy with your shop so far...
