Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I can only say that the Vado 3.0 I test road last week definitely had a Class 3 sticker and that the LBS said it was Class 3, plus the reviews. Perhaps it changed with model year?

Help me pick which Specialized Turbo to get -- thanks!

Seems like it functionally competes with the Vado 4.0 (less like the Como) but is a tad more expensive. Why do you like it more? One major plus for Specialized for me has been the extensive dealer network. There's a crazy number of LBS's around here that sell them, and the Specialized site has...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

2021 Vado 3.0 is already in stores. The L is actually the only Vado right now that's not out of stock on Specialized website online too. It is Class 3 and still has the 1.2e motor and 460Wh battery.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

The Vado 3.0 is class 3. I saw the sticker myself on the one I test rode, the LBS tech said it and its in a bunch of the reviews.

Help me pick which Specialized Turbo to get -- thanks!

I meant wheel -- was colloquially using them interchangeably. I was reacting to your suggestion to remove it before transport. Not sure what you are saying about the fenders and the rear light. I was reacting to your comment to get one of the Como's without the fenders and pointed out only the...

Help me pick which Specialized Turbo to get -- thanks!

Thanks. I think I've settled on the Como. The only one with out fenders is the 3,0, which has the weakest motor and smallest battery but easy enough to remove on the others. I'll try out the tires as-is but set expectations to change them later. I'll check out the other mods you suggest too...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

What makes the Vado a Ferrari versus the Como exactly? To extend the metaphor, in this case the Rolls-Royce has the same engine as the Ferrari, and is a little lighter which helps output and range. It has most of the same major components -- brakes, gears, etc. It basically seems to come down to...

Help me pick which Specialized Turbo to get -- thanks!

Thanks. I had done that. Seems like everyone is using the "tray" hitches (which I clumsily described above). Sigh.

Help me pick which Specialized Turbo to get -- thanks!

How do you transport your Como? This is one of the things I'm stuck on. Seems to big and heavy to shove sideways into my SUV or vertical into our minivan, too heavy to put on a bar mounted rack or get on a roof rack which only leaves getting a new hitch and wheel-based rack system. Am I missing...

Help me pick which Specialized Turbo to get -- thanks!

Thanks. How are you planning to transport the Vado for rides not originating from your home? Seems like the only option for me would be to get a hitch installed on my car and invest in one of the racks that seat the bike wheels from below, which is at least another $1K investment. I feel like...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

If I got the non-EQ version of the SL and swapped out the tires with 650x47's presumably I would need to change the wheels too? If so, is it easy to get ones that are comparable to wha's included on the bike and the same color etc.? What 650x47's would people recommend? And are there fenders...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

yes, that's true. Both the 4 and the 5 have a non-EQ version that is missing the fenders, rack, and the kick-stand. It's easy to get the kick stand. The one trade off is the rear LED light is mounted to the seat with wiring down the seat post. So if you go this way you you'll probably have to...

VAdo or Como Suspension Seat post and Handlebar Stem

So the suspension stem has no conflict with the Turbo displays which are mounted center or the models that have the LED headlights mounted high?

VAdo or Como Suspension Seat post and Handlebar Stem

Where is the line on very tall? I'm almost 6'1. Would a 350 be fine, or do I need the 420? I see Specialized ships 400's standard for my frame size.

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

Thanks for the feedback on how big a difference the seat suspension makes. The SL starts with 700x38's. You can switch to either a 700x42 or a 650x47. However, doing either of those other sizes appears to be incompatible with the included fender, rack (which requires the custom fender for its...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

Thanks. I wish my wife or I could answer that, as you say, but we have no point of reference and no ability to test that on the bike. Do wider tires make a little or big difference usually on ride vibration? On the Giant bikes, once you're up in that weight class, what's the benefit of those...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Hi. I'm trying to pick between getting a Vado, Como or Vado SL. I've ridden each briefly, but not in ideal conditions, and am really conflicted. I have a longer post about this here: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/help-me-pick-which-specialized-turbo-to-get-thanks.37635/ For...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

BTW, is there a way to turn off the lights on the SL 4.0 EQ (that doesn't have the control display)? The LBS techs couldn't figure it out. Seemed to come on automatically when the battery was on and didn't response to button pushes the same way it does on the regular Vados.

Why does it seem Vado owners are getting KINEKT 2.1 vs Redshift Seat Post ?

Haven't decided -- see related post. Could be any of the three. Hope to settle which this week. Test road all three and stuck on pro/con of each versus my use case. So getting this seat post is a bit cart before the horse, but I'm 100% getting one of those bikes and at this point am confident...

Why does it seem Vado owners are getting KINEKT 2.1 vs Redshift Seat Post ?

Thanks for the lead! Which seat post diameter and length do I need for the Turbo's? (or does it vary by model? I haven't picked my Turbo yet but am confident I'll want this regardless of which one I get and wouldn't mind benefitting from the sale.
