Product Review: Kinekt 2.1 Suspension Seatpost

After purchasing my first e-mountain bike, I quickly realised it allowed me to spend much more time in the saddle. The electric assist negated the need for hard, standing pumping much of the time. The ebike also allowed for greater average speeds when on road and gravel, making small bumps...

Does sweat count towards 'getting them wet'? Figure I'll do that every ride. How do you clean them?

Bianchi Debuts e-MTB with Massive Battery

$10,000 for an ebike in the weight range of 52-60lbs? I was shopping for ebikes TWO YEARS AGO and was looking at 720w batteries in Bulls and BH ebikes that weighed the same and cost half as much. And they had better 21700 cells. I am offended that this what Bianchi is offering for the year...

Fast Ebike - Loud Wind In the Ear - Hearing Loss?

When I was analog biking, by periods of high speed (above 22mph) were short. But with an ebike, I live at those speeds. 22mph wind in the ears is annoying, and when I get hit with a headwind, the noise give me a headache. I'm wondering if those winds, probably a cumulative of 28-30mph will...

Folding Locks: ABus Bordo 6000 vs Foldylock Compact on CCS/CCX

I went with the foldylock compact after watching too many videos of thieves and lock pickers making quick work of the abuse Bordo. Haven't seen any destructive tests of the Foldylock, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Lockpicking Lawyer Dismandles Bordo

Ebikes for apartment and condo dwellers

My BH emtb is 51 lbs and isn't a 'light' ebike. Battery is 8lbs. Front tire and seat+seatpost are maybe 5lbs more. As long as you dont mind the hassle of the daily disassemble, you'll have lots of choices in the sub 50lb range. Good luck!

Ebikes for apartment and condo dwellers

Am I wrong to think that if you buy a decent size small, carbon frame commuter bike, then pull off the battery and front wheel, you're left with about 32lbs? I would think there should be lots of options if your willing to go thru the daily chore of bringing your bike up and down the stairs in...

Your tire choice when rotational weight is no object

I spent the 1990s mountain biking on paper thin, 2" tires with tubes similar to latex condoms to save on rotational weight. Now that I'm riding a 51lb ebike, I think tire weight isn't so much an issue. Now I care about maximizing grip so I can actually cling to the mountains my electric motor...

    Battery charging

Just use one of the auto off/on lamp timers you can buy at any Walmart or Walgreens equivalent. You shouldn't spend more than $5 on one of those and they should be everywhere. I quickly learned that my battery charges 25% in 1 hour. That makes the math really easy to get to about 85% on each...

    Battery charging

Charge it as much as you need to to use it but try not doing any more than that. Best to charge right before you ride instead of as soon as you use up a charge, so the battery sits full for as short a period as possible. If you don't need to charge in between rides, then don't. A battery...

Hi Sinar. Did you ever find a micro USB POWERED bike light? I've got a BH with a 6V port and I would love to run a powerful light off it.

    Class 1 vs 3

This so irritates me. I had the same experience at San Diego Fly Rides in La Jolla. They told me that the typical road biker is doing 20mph and that I'd never need to be going faster than this. After buying a class 1 emtb, I realized that on flat roads, acoustic roadies are going way over...

60mi Round Trip Commute - Advice?

If you're 6'2" and weigh only 135lbs and you also have a desire to bicycle commute through some of Los Angeles' dicier areas, I'd say the first thing you should do is stop using heroin. 😜😜 All jokes aside, you seem like the perfect candidate for this bike. Do some research on the Frey. The CC...
