Flat tire history with LaFree E+1

I don't remember exactly what it was but will ask him. Pretty sure it was a lubricant and not very much.

I don't think he put SLIME in it. Seems like he used a lubricant????

Flat tire history with LaFree E+1

Good information. Thank you very much. I bought a floor pump made by Bontrager and it has a large gauge making easy to see. My bike has the Presta valves and its taken awhile to learn how to use them. The tip to flick the end is a great tip. I will try it. I am guilty of not using the 9 or...

    LaFree +1 Auto Mode?

I had some time this morning to ride in AUTO mode. I did most of my ride in gear 6 & 7. It appears to me that the gears are more spread out in AUTO mode. I can stay in each gear longer than when out of AUTO mode. In non-auto 8th gear I frequently see 25mph on the GPS. In AUTO I was not...

Flat tire history with LaFree E+1

Probably right. Being my first bike I didn’t want to take a chance. I was reluctant to go very far from home. There is an obvious difference in the quality of the tires. I don’t worry about them now. You are right...good gauge and pump. I now check my tires before each ride. The Trek...

    LaFree +1 Auto Mode?

Thank you Greg. I didn’t ride enough to make absolute statements but I plan to have a better feel tomorrow. My gut feeling is that you are spot on. Bob

    LaFree +1 Auto Mode?

Dave...thank you. When you first turn the module on the power LEDS are not glowing until you press the UP button. If you press and hold the DOWN button there is a small light that comes on between the Up and Down controls. I rode it around the block several times and I could tell that it was...

    LaFree +1 Auto Mode?

I keep reading small bits about an "AUTO MODE" that manages the application of power to the bike more efficiently. There is a claim that it is programmed to adjust the battery power delivery. I cannot figure out how you get the +1 into this auto mode. If anyone knows I would appreciate...

Flat tire history with LaFree E+1

I have had my +1 for two month. Ride number two and four resulted in flat tires. Dealer where I bought it was useless in resolving the issue. The first action at another bike dealer was to install a Mr. Tuffy liner which should protect a penetration reaching the tube. After the second flat I...

2019 Lafree E+1 review and experiences.

Curmudgeon and Readytoride, I enjoyed your reviews of your new LaFree+1. We are very similar in age and biking experience. I have been going to the Y 3-5 days a week for about 12 years and I’m in pretty good shape for my age. My health issue is arthritis and I can ride a bike much better than...

    Looking at Giant Lafree E+2

You are lucky to have a dealer like Skagit in your area. I think the sales networks, support and responses from Trek and Specialized is better than Giants. I sent a question directly to Giant and it took over a week to get a response. Trek and Specialized respond quickly. Don't know...

    Looking at Giant Lafree E+2

Negative reaction from the dealer partly started it all. My enthusiasm for a bike overshadowed my brain! The Trek dealer is a mile away and they have been extraordinary in helping me tweak the bike, come to my home and pick the bike up(no charge) to fix the flats, lights, seat, bags, clothing...

    Looking at Giant Lafree E+2

I suspect the reason that the sales person didn't recommend it was because they didn't have one in stock. I have owned the E+1 for two months and the highlight of the bike is the belt drive. I wish I had not purchased the LaFree bike but it's not because it has the belt drive.

Car carrier advice for Explore E+ 1

The only single hitch mounted rack that would support the weight of my LaFree +1 was the Thule T1.

Giant Lafree E+2 and E+1 I have owned both models!!!!

Totally subjective. I have owned the LaFree+1 for about two months now. It's been a long way from a knock out of the park for me. Jury is still out on the dealer. Two flat tires in the first 4 rides. IMO opinion the tires are not strong enough for the weight of the bike plus rider. They...

    LaFree E+1

Good question. The first one was a piece of glass. Don’t know yet another the latest one. All my riding has been in neighborhood. I am going to get new tires. I am researching now for stronger ones. Any suggestions.

    LaFree E+1

Less than three weeks two flats. Mr. Tuffy liner was installed after the first flat and I still had one. I am glad I didn't go on a long trail ride.

    LaFree E+1

I’m a long way from a normal body. Built more like a gorilla. Long torso, long arms and short legs. Good physical condition and as proportional as possible. Must be other primate males riding LAFrees. I’m glad you are happy with yours. Just had second flat tire with mine.

    LaFree E+1

I am adjusting to the E+1 a bit more each time I ride it. Quote from Review! What We Liked: The supreme comfort and stability on offer as well as the effortlessly silent assistance offered by the Yamaha drive unit. I have yet to experience the "supreme comfort." It's not even close to the...
