    Aftermarket battery

I purchased the 13.5ah Carbon Shark Pack from Luna Cycle. I did not chose the high power option only the long range (+ $40). I also purchased the advanced charger (additional $80). Total cost without tax including shipping was $525. The only modification required was to drill an additional...

    Aftermarket battery

Last week I purchased a third party frame mounted battery (48v 13.5ah). Very pleased with the results. Even looks better than the original. Performance is much enhanced in all 4 assist levels and distance traveled greatly increased. I am getting more watts of power from the motor at all...

    Aftermarket battery

I am also interested in replacing the frame mounted battery on my Izip Peak. I am seriously considering the 48v 13.5ah Dolphin from Luna Cycle. I noticed that the existing Izip battery has four wires attached and the third party batteries have two wires. I have experimented by attaching...

Where To Buy 2nd Battery For 2015 IZIP E3 Dash

When my battery fails I have been looking at changing to an Allcell SE-4814. It will require some rewiring but the battery capacity is 14.5 ah vrs the 8 ah of the Izip battery. It mounts in the same location on the frame. See the attached data sheet for further information.

E3 Peak owners, how often do you need to adjust your derailleur?

I have not noticed any affect on the motor, but it is definitely more efficient if you are in the proper gear. Do not touch the motor other than removing the battery so that the motor does not accidently start while you are removing the chainring. Do suggest that you buy a larger size...

E3 Peak owners, how often do you need to adjust your derailleur?

I am using the original chain and I have access to all 9 gears. I am confident that you will be very pleased with the larger front chainring and you will wonder why Izip installed the 38t. This modification is a good investment. Suggest that you purchase the one I mentioned above (or...

E3 Peak owners, how often do you need to adjust your derailleur?

I ride my Peak mainly on paved roads in a hilly neighborhood for exercise. I rarely go off road so I was interested in more speed vrs extreme hill climbing. My goal was to be able to pedal with level one assist at 18 to 20 miles/hr on flat ground. I am 5'10" and weight 190 pounds. A typical...

    iZip E3 Peak: kickstand recommendations?

I bought an O-Stand Tranz-X Adjustable Kickstand from REI. Works great, mounts on rear wheel frame.

    Upgrading Dash brakes to hydraulic?

I posted some comments on the Izip forum under E3 Peak 1st impressions that you might want to read. I would not put too much emphasis on his rating system which is very subjective (my opinion). I can't tell you why he did not rate it higher. Court's comments pro & con are all valid. This is...

    Upgrading Dash brakes to hydraulic?

I ride the Peak and love it. With a mid drive and hydraulic brakes it is far superior to the Dash. Balance is better because of the placement of the motor and battery. Wheels behave like a regular bike and flats are easier to service than a hub motor. Shifting takes some getting used too...

Would appreciate member POV on new commuter.

Suggest you include in your budget a second charger to leave at work and extra batteries. You may need to carry a 2nd battery on the bike. A 48 volt system will work better than a 36 volt system. Suggest you look at a Pedego Interceptor with multiple 48 volt batteries and 2nd charger.

E3 Peak owners, how often do you need to adjust your derailleur?

I now have about 750 miles on my Peak and have had the local LBS adjust the rear derailleur once. I thought the adjustment might relate to my increasing the front chain ring from 38t to 44t and now 46t with a 48t chain guard. But now that I think about it, the derailleur worked fine for about a...

    IZIP E3 Peak - 1st Impressions

I now have over 600 miles on my E3 Peak, only problem has been squeaking brakes. I really like the bike. From what I read they have not made any changes on my 'wish list'. The 350 watt motor had enough power if you are interested in riding a bike for exercise and not hot rodding around town...

Dash e3, just bought and had a few questions

Suggest you check with REI or Performance on the purchase of the battery. If it cost the same as another dealer you might be eligible for their 10% rewards or dividend which you can use on future purchases.

Dash, thinking about weight and my entry level fork.

If you are riding mainly on the pavement, my first suggestion would be to search for less aggressive tires that will allow you to inflate much higher than your current tires. Do you have your current tires inflated to the maximum? Improving the rolling resistance may benefit you more than...

Amp Hours when battery is fully charged (Onboard Diagnostic Test)

I agree this topic is covered in post 70 which I previously never read. Having now read post 70, I think my post should be removed or if Currie's comments could be placed after my initial statement a lot of confusion would be eliminated. I have not read every post on this site and I would...

Amp Hours when battery is fully charged (Onboard Diagnostic Test)

Riding Electric bikes is just fun, but because this industry is experiencing a lot of growth, changes in technology and the production of a lot of garbage, some of us we will feel some pain. My 1st ebike (kit conversion) had major battery problems which took some time to solve. I don't feel...

Amp Hours when battery is fully charged (Onboard Diagnostic Test)

I would go thru a few more cycles of use and see if you still get the same reading on a fully charged battery. Whatever Currie is doing in terms of Amp Hour measurement (accurate or not), the computer in the bike is doing the same for all of us. That said, with a year warranty on the battery...

Amp Hours when battery is fully charged (Onboard Diagnostic Test)

If you hold down the + button for 10 seconds or so and cycle the center button until you see a "9" the number next to it will show "Battery Charge (Ah). "This value is the remaining capacity in the battery. 088 means 8.8 Ah remaining." Value range for this function is 000 - 088 After...
