SONDORS is releasing it's first mid-drive EBikes.

Internationally, 26", standard widths, remains an extremely popular tyre size. I think you would have a lot of trouble finding a 27.5 replacement outside of a moderately sized city in China. (I base that on my search for a replacement tyre for my recumbent in China when I visited the coast, I...

SONDORS is releasing it's first mid-drive EBikes.

Understand, I am not a real fan of 27.5, think the 700/29 inch tyres were too big for a lot of people and 26 had already been done. The 27.5 is similar to the 650b. I think it is mostly different looking. I prefer the 26". There are a lot of tyre options, and the bike is almost an inch lower...

SONDORS is releasing it's first mid-drive EBikes.

Right, I typed 17.5, but I meant 27.5 That is just one of the factors that are causing me to hesitate on making the purchase.

SONDORS is releasing it's first mid-drive EBikes.

I want to wait and see some reviews on the rockstar before I jump. I have a couple of concerns, the first is rider hight, I want to see some 5'6" riders report. The other is the tyres, I know that isn't going to change, but the 17.5 tyres turn me off. The issue there is that there is a dearth of...

    Ebike specific Chain

I have recently changed my commuter eBike to a NuVinci. This means that I do not need to deal with a derailleur. As such I am switching to a BMX chain. I have done this before and I just have more faith in a chain where the pins extend a little past the plates on the chain.

Anyone use a solar system to charge your ebike? What system are you using?

From my Kansas - Utah "Never Plug-In" trip. I used two solar panels and a BBS02 motor without a throttle. I used the NuVinci N380 to control the power draw and control cruising speed. My target draw was 250W, which put me at about 13-15 mph on level ground. Of course, on hills, I dipped into...

    Tell Us About Your Commute.

I have a pretty short commute, it is only about 4.5 miles. It is entirely on city streets. However, winds at and above 50mph are not uncommon. Fortunately, they are mostly head or tail winds, from the side is a lot harder to deal with. This is largely what pushed me to an eBike. I am...

    Hello from Kansas

In the case of the first one, I already had the bike. Of course, no one makes solar trikes (I don't want to the of how much it would cost if anyone did). IN the third one, I had heard how the Tongsheng motor was so much better than the BBS02 and I wanted to see. That said, for similar motor and...

    Hello from Kansas

Short Bio, I lived in Northern California for many years, in and about Yreka. Then I left the country and returned to South-West Kansas, the rural part of the state. Here I teach computer applications and robotics at a middle school. My first eBikes were a couple of motor scooter looking things...

SONDORS is releasing it's first mid-drive EBikes.

I am really thinking hard about the Rockstar. However, this concerns me, I am 5'6", are any of these mid-drives going to fit me?

Is anyone trying to solve charging on the road?

As stated, I went from Kansas to Utah. That took me through the Rockies as I followed the Adventure Cycling Associations route. It was a bit over 900 miles. On the grade leading the summit in the picture I did have to stop once and go or a short hike as the batteries replenished. The panels...

Is anyone trying to solve charging on the road?

Here was my grossly overloaded trike on my Kansas - Utah "Never Plug-In" tour. I am in the process of rebuilding it to use a rotovello and placing the panels on a trailer.
