What brand and model options would you recommend

I think you will definetly need to test ride a few bikes. I’ve just bought one myself after a bit of research and getting tips from experience owners/riders here! Typically light weight = lower assist Heavy and bulky = higher assist.(battery and motor weight). Given your touring getting flat...

Downgrade Vado SL to Class 1?

Speed limiting e bikes to me seems so silly. Does society generally speed limit cars? No! They can go well above legal limits even on freeways! What you have instead is just speed limits that people need to adhere too! With good old pedal power you can go dangerously quick on a cycle path...

    Void warranty

For me personally I don’t really see the point of removing the top speed assist unless your riding a road bike and perhaps ride up to 50/60km/h plus and want to keep the pace up assisted?? What’s people are probably more interested in is Torque. And as far as I know that’s not limited by...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Right… This is the rack currently on the bike. Not sure if stock or what the LBS fitted. But if it is the one which ships with the Turbo Vado SL you are saying the cool caves are no go. Whereas the tailwind bags will clip on and fit nicely?

I also thought these might be cool and I just put a bag inside them…not sure if a bit heavy. https://www.specialized.com/us/en/specialized-fjllrven-coolcave-pannier/p/216972

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I was looking at these, simply because the rack is branded “racktime” https://www.amazon.com.au/Racktime-Unisex-Adults-Pannier-Standard/dp/B07B4GP4WQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?keywords=Racktime&qid=1669514673&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjUzIiwicXNhIjoiMS45MiIsInFzcCI6IjIuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-8&th=1&psc=1

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

So one of the first things I am looking to equip my turbo Vado sl with is some bags to carry my work stuff on a commute. It’s a “rack time” rear rack. Assume that’s standard. Can anyone recommend one of their bags? Needs to fit a laptop in it as my most common thing to carry around I think.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

No I got a 4.0 eq at a great price - too good to pass up to consider a 5.0(ie just the bike available). It’s never that cold in Australia.(although we have had a lot of unusual wet weather). I’ll enjoy it as is, but I might consider some upgrades as a bit of money left in the bike kitty,

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

So I got myself a turbo Vado sl 4.0 today. Lovely bike and will do a bit of a write up on it after a few more rides. First time back in the saddle for over a decade and feel the firm ride with the stock saddle and post.

    Getting what you paid for?

Probably about 4k USD.(converting from Aussie dollars) Would be on the lookout for a few run out 2021/2022 models still in my LBS here. Eg I considered a Bianchi eOmnia here that was on sale for 4K USD but on conversion at full price was probably around 5.5k USD today?

    Getting what you paid for?

I’ll check it out. I’m limited with brands as I live in Australia. Hopefully we have a distributor for a test ride. I agree, think I want to spend the money on a mid drive motor as yes riding them they feel really natural. We have Giant here and I was also looking at the Giant FastRoad e+...

And are specialized integrated or removable batteries. A removable battery is important for me. Which means the form factor won’t be as nice I know.

    Getting what you paid for?

I like specialized bikes. I used to have a mountain bikes of theirs. The cost of a specialized is some 3 times some similar brands. I know workmanship on specialized is A1. What is battery replacement like? Ideally I’d like choice around that as it’s a perishable. (Much like replacing...
