I really don’t think there is much difference between the 2018 and 2019 models

No harder to control that a regular bike. Just a little heavier and faster so it just take a little more attention on the riders part.

Stewart’s shop are my go to when riding. It seems like there is one about every 20 miles if you plan your route. It’s like having a support crew when riding

Has anyone picked up an extra battery for their Toughroad? I have not run into a range problem yet but I am thinking about a longer ride on very mountainous roads. I have been able to go 52 miles with about 35% battery left but that was on moderate hills.

New activities taken up during COVID-19

I am still a working stiff. Monday through Friday grind, but I do like my job and find it rewarding so life isn’t to bad. I do see some sort of retirement in the future, but semi retirement seems like a better plan since I like what I do. However I am jealous about the free time you guys have...

I am a fellow GenXer with the same types of knee issues. You are going to love your ebike when you get one. An ebike is like a safety net for me. I can go out and ride as hard as I want for a workout, and when the knee starts acting up I can up the assist level and take a break. Sometimes I...

I agree with all the safety equipment mentioned in the other post. But maybe consider the bike it self. Most people ride on road or gravel bike paths. That being the case riding on a bike with wider tires feel a lot safer as apposed to the super thin road tires I road for years on my old analog...

Not boring at all. The group is excited about a subject and that keeps the topics interesting. Folks get old when they lose passion for life

I turn 53 soon. A bad knee, torn ACL and Meniscus drove me to a ebike. 10 mile slow painful rides on my analog bike were no longer fun. The ebike has allowed me to ride the mileage and speeds I rode prior to the injuries. I love to bike it is the most enjoyable exercise, physically and mentally.

Hi all! I'm new here and to ebikes and I need some help.....

What I here of the Bay Area it is very hilly. If that is the case for your area I would recommend a mid-drive motor. Fat Bikes are great for the beach or snow but needless drag on your battery for the road or trail. A good suspension seat post and comfortable seat will cushion your ride.
