My 2017 Brose Motor, SLOW as molasses, SAD, such a good looking bike..

Glad your experience has been positive. Most who ride all the systems think brose is objectively less powerful. eMTB mag comparison reached the same conclusion. http://ebike-mtb.com/en/top-10-best-e-mtbs-2016/. Point being I think the opinion has moved beyond subjective with the time trials they...

No contradiction , I still think all manufactures should make sure free upgrades are available, just like BULLS did for the OP, my point is that the title is not true. From my experience, BULLS is very responsive with good customer service. The OP's complete take down was overkill. They do have...

Known Issues & Problems with BULLS Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

The stress mid drive motors put on chains and gear teeth needs a fix. Design a more robust chain, cassette, and chain ring that can handle extra torque. Or replace the whole drive train with a belt drive. Industry needs to fix this all too common problem.

Need Software Support on my 2017 BULLS Bike...Resolution Found.

Brose motor performance notwithstanding, the title of this thread is not an accurate or fair assessment of BULLS USA , particularly since they stepped up and fixed what is really a dealer-buyer issue, IMO. The fair thing would be to make the at-fault party pay for the cost of an upgrade at a...

    A Battery Standard?

Most all ebike batteries use the same 18650 cells from various manufacturers, the only thing proprietary is the BMS (sometimes) and the configuration, including how the cells are held together and housed. Fairly simple designs. If you find yourself with a failing battery that is no longer being...

    Best Conversion kit 2017

Luna does not allow 250w motors on the premises, only wow factor wattage's.

Need Software Support on my 2017 BULLS Bike...Resolution Found.

No manufacturer can force its dealer to offer free service to a customer that bought the bike at another shop, but with system updates all of the large manufacturers should make sure their dealers give free updates on all of their products regardless of where the bike was purchased, even if that...

Local dealer support - how big of deal?

Online deals are great, but a test ride is by far the best way to buy any bike. Many buyers have no local ebike dealer and are forced to buy without the benefit of a test ride. If you are close to a brick and mortar ebike store, do the test ride first, then give the shop a chance to match the...

They have always had their contact phone number under the "contact us" section. I called and s/w Barney about an issue with my new BULLS fs3, he was totally responsive and got the Dealer involved and was instrumental in stepping up and ultimately providing a 100% solution. I think Barney and...

Converted my Haibike Cross to a Dura Ace Road Bike

Clean conversion, good choices. Does the cross come with a 350w/28 mph set-up? A number of dealers have good closeout prices on the sduro line.

My 2017 Brose Motor, SLOW as molasses, SAD, such a good looking bike..

I think the point is the brose system is under powered by any objective standard. If all riders experience the same lack of power its not subjective.

Nice vision of a future ruled by bikes

In large cities the advantages of ebike commuting are obvious with traffic and parking being huge problems. EV's in general are the future as gasoline will not be available indefinitely.

What is your 'Recipe' for the perfect ebike?

'Perfect' being a relative term. 1.) 750w nom/1200w peak, fully integrated mid drive with PAS that has torque and cadence sensors, as well as throttle over ride at all levels AND a 27-speed IGH 'transmission' designed to operate with the motor for an all in one system. Motor parameters fully...

My 2017 Brose Motor, SLOW as molasses, SAD, such a good looking bike..

Had the same experience, a cadence sensor alone makes you work a bit harder than a torque sensor PAS. Also, the internal belt in the brose motor adds to the natural 'rider' feel they where going for by design, but some speculation about this requiring a conservative motor regime for reliability...

    Monte 1000 ?

A production 750w/48v Bafang mid drive with semi integrated motor and battery? Rare and interesting. Has anyone had a chance to ride this? Looks more upright than classic mtb design, with the adjustable stem could be a good commuter. Have not found any video and their website does not list the...

    Narrowing down e-bike purchase

You will not be happy with the 250/350w 36v systems available with the large manufacturers, a rider your size should have minimum 500w/48v, IMO.

Which bike to use for building an E-bike

Most decent MTB's have large diameter thru axles with wider hubs that allow spokes to be mounted at more of an angle making a stronger wheel, stiffer more robust frames, wider rims with double wall "V" designs so wider better gripping tires (2.25" ) can be used. I would avoid skinny tires/rims...

Which bike to use for building an E-bike

Why would you want to mount a scooter motor to a bicycle frame triangle? They have purpose built mid-drive systems that mount into your BB. They offer much better weight-to-power efficiency. Bafang bbs02(750w nom) or bbshd (1000w nom), check out eRad as well and the Bafang system kit suppliers...

New to bikes - looking for lightweight and small frame

The best way to ensure you find something as close to what you are looking for is test riding. With your bad knees, ankles and Asthma a comfort cruiser design would be good. Like the Electra Townie with Bosch PAS, http://www.electrabike.com/bikes/townie. Your more upright, on a larger more...
