if you get the special cable, one of the settings in the Bafang software on the PAS screen is speed limit. It can be locked to a fixed value (in which case it will ignore your display's 99kph setting) or "by Displays command". You want the latter. My Bafang (with a Bafang DPC-18 display)...

Because of the amount of current the switches introduce an extra potential point of failure. With 250 (5 amps or so) watt bikes no big deal, 1500W is another story.
