Brand new Vado 4.0 motor stops support at 20mph.

I called my LBS and I'm going to take it in this afternoon. The first thing they mentioned is that it might be a class 1 Vado 4.0. I didn't even know that it existed and I hope they are mistaken. Otherwise, I'm heading back up to Seattle to get the 3.0 back or just return it and order (and wait...

Brand new Vado 4.0 motor stops support at 20mph.

The part number is 95020-5804 I did a search and that looks normal for the Vado 4.0. I'm going to ride it to my local shop tomorrow and see if they can check if its just a software thing.

I didnt get a chance to. It was just the parking lot and it was raining. I took it for a spin and it felt like how I’d expect it to. I just didn’t try to get it to 28mph at that time due to the circumstances. Since it worked, I had no reason to think it wouldn’t hit 28, especially since it was...

Brand new Vado 4.0 motor stops support at 20mph.

I'm not sure what's going on, but my brand new (purchased in Seattle USA) Vado 4.0 stops support at 20mph. The moment it hits 20mph, pedaling immediately becomes difficult. I've ridden a 2020 3.0 and could easily get that to 28mph, and a friend's 2019 Vado that I could get to 28mph easily. This...

Well damn. I made it all the way home (3 hours away) and take it for a ride. The motor cuts off at 20mph. Not an ounce of assistance the moment the speed hits 20mph. Ive spent the last hour looking up why and I can't find anything because 99% of 20mph topics on the vado are Europeans or...

It’s a gateway bike because of the price and it’s intended audience. I could have bought 5 Lectric XP’s for the price I paid for the Vado 4.0. For most people who use the bike, 12 miles is fine. Most people who ride the bike will likely get 2-3 times that, easily. That 12 miles would have...

Well................. I bought the 4.0 I test rode a friend's 2019 3.0 and loved the extra torque and power. The difference was more than I thought. I emailed the bike shop and they said it would be fine to bring the 3.0 in for the 4.0. There's a couple little scratches on the new bike, but the...

What shoes do you ride with?

Commuting - My regular work shoes. We are a work casual place so I don't have to worry about scuffing up nice shoes. Mountain biking - I ride flat pedals and just wear athletic shoes. I should wear mnt bike shoes but I haven't had a problem yet. Road biking - I like Giro and clipless. I've been...

    VADO SL 4.0 APP

Im not sure how valuable it would be since a lot of what the app does is track your data while you ride. You can set parameters for the motor to use, but thats about it. If I didnt have a phone, I dont think it would be too much of a problem to use it without it though. Even my Vado's stock...

Modding ideas for higher throttle top speed?

This comment didn't age well. He bought one and did a brief review on youtube, but that was about it. I was hoping for some mods, if nothing else custom length hydraulic brakes. I made the mistake of buying one of his for a Sondors folding bike that I *assumed* would have similar dimensions and...

This is very true. Its a one-two punch of not only being a cheap way to get into ebiking, but it's an excellent bike. I just watched Jeremiah Mcintosh (one of the original reviewers of the XP on youtube) put together a beefy middrive Rambo brand ebike today. He looked absolutely crushed at the...

I took it out for its first real ride today. 12 brutal miles of rolling vineyard hills. I am SO happy with the bike overall and there are some things I wish I could go back and tell myself about when I was obsessing over which bike to get. Things that I feel make this bike really special. "Its...

I thought that was weird with the como. Same price as the Vado but less parts. I mean they are pretty identical except for the fork and geometry.

I did a quick 5 mile ride around my neighborhood. Went up the tallest hill in my town, and while I did have to downshift quite a bit and put more into it, I got up it no problem. I am still comparing it to my Lectric XP which isn’t fair and is against the reason I bought the bike anyways. I...

I bought the 2020 3.0 in the gray color (not the blue gray, the one that is actually gray). I wish I would have known about the 1.2 vs 1.2e motor. When I was at the bike shop, the sales guy said that they had the same motor when I was asking for the differences between the 3.0 and 4.0. If I...

I walked into two LBS' today with an open mind. I tried out a few bikes. I had my mind made up already between the Vado 3.0, Vado 4.0, or Verve 2. The first shop I went to had 2 Trek bikes in stock (verve 2 and 3 along with their top-end stuff that I didn't even want to look at), the 2nd shop...
