Latest News from Riese & Müller

I shared an article when this motor first was announced Continental . Hopefully Rohloff will up their game, maybe after they sell all these R&M hubs they will have the capital to develop an integrated motor/transmission with Bosch. Bosch is a fantastic electro-mechanical manufacture, but beyond...

Latest News from Riese & Müller

In three or 4 years the Rohloff hub will be obsolete on ebikes. It’s reliability is very overrated and by adding electronic shifting it is only masking it’s worts. The future will be the integration of the motor and transmission.

    Greta Thunberg day in NYC

This started with a story about a sweet 16 year old kid with a cause and evolved into a mean-spirited discord.

    Doctor's letter

WOW there has been a lot of political chatter on this form, from climate change tax credits. I agree with @Alaskan about the negative social impact of specialized tax credits. Voodoo economics has put this country in insurmountable debt. As a country we don’t have the funds to repair a...

York County,Pa. USA YCP Bans all ebikes on local rail trail

Effectively a pedalcycle allowed on a trail is a class 1 Ebike. At some point most states will use the California nomenclature. Pennsylvania bicycle law handout

    Correlation between speed and death

A similar statistic in the USA has been observed with older men and motorcycles. Old men, two wheels and speed is a bad combination. The old man class, of which I belong, live in denial that there reaction time and driving skills have not diminished and in fact take the opposite approach by...

British Columbia, Canada: Policy designating Class 2 and 3 e-bikes as motorized vehicles goes into effect immediately

35kmh (20 mph) as a class 1 in USA works for 90% of my needs and is in the safe speed range in Pennsylvania for trails. Actually most trails here are posted 15 mph. 45 kmh (class 3) is great for urban commuters.

York County,Pa. USA YCP Bans all ebikes on local rail trail

It sounds like there is a person or group, who has political friends, dead set against Ebikes. In Pennsylvania class 1 Ebikes have the same trail usage rights as a regular bicycle, so if York bans Ebikes they also ban all bikes, unless of course everyone with road bikes have medical mental...

    Confused About "Class 1 Legality"

A lot of signage in California, like most states, needs to be updated for the current laws. State parks allow class 1 bikes, in January 2018 I was stopped by a Wilder State Park ranger to check my class 1 sticker. So they know the law. There was no issue riding in state parks.

48 miles 5,000 feet, a personal challenge on Tuesday

50 miles and 5000 feet is out of range for my Nevo and two batteries. We are about the same weight and age but you log consider more miles so it might be possible with more rider watts. The closest ride to your 50/5000 I have is 2000 feet shy but with similar accent distance and grade. After the...

Step over or step through for men?

Gender appropriate! A 71 year old male who also does the grocery shopping. It’s a fluid society these days. I don’t care how young, you would need to be amazingly flexible to swing your leg over this basket.

    New Bosch Motors Q&A

I agree. The USA has a very high percentage of obesity and a throttle does not aid in shedding a few pounds. But I guess for some potential buyers using a throttle on the hills to get to a strip shopping center for lunch is a step in the right direction for a healthier lifestyle.

It is a Rixen and Kaul Alumino basket. It attaches on the same adapter as the Ortlieb handlebar bags. I also have a Rixen and Kaul backpack that fits onto the same adapter making it a multifunctional carrier. In the USA Rixen and Kaul is sold by Velo Fred. The basket link is here. Rixen and Kaul
