Good that this solved you issue. As you will see there are a variety of faults that cause this issue. Your connection issue is actually a larger problem of the Giant firmware being fault intolerant.

Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

You have my sympathies WAGiantUser. My tale of woe. Back in late July I was riding when I experienced the dreaded sudden off! The RideControl suddenly switched itself off, no lights. I removed the battery and refitted it numerous times, no improvement. Giant replaced the RideControl under...

Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

The Stance keys use an ABUS T82 key blank, unfortunately unless you have the key serial number you will need to get a locksmith involved. If you have the key number tag that comes with the original key serial number (it will have a number like "4966") then you can order one online. You can use...

    Giant powering off repeteadly

I should have said, that in this picture a UK owner who has had the same battery connector issue has sealed up the wires on the loom where they enter the rubber on the back of the battery connector as a precaution. Once my bike is out of warranty next year, this will be on my "to-do" list.

    Giant powering off repeteadly

No problem. Unfortunately the "random sudden shutoff" is not confined to just the battery (BMS) firmware issue. In July my 2021 Stance E+2 started doing exactly the same thing the RideControl switched itself off, no lights and no fault code lights. The Giant Dealer replaced the RideControl...

    Giant powering off repeteadly

I believe your LBS only has part of the story. Information from a UK owner who researched this problem on the EMTB Forum and worked with his Giant Dealer to solve the fault found that the problem with Giant bikes randomly switching off was related to a battery firmware issue. Basically the...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

I agree with Patricia, just ignore the B character, he stalks this forum pursuing posters obsessively and aggressively to the point of harassment for simply for posting a complaint or an issue with a Giant product. His lack of comprehension and misinformation is astounding and the serial...

The flashing red LED and associated Assist Level white LED are displaying a fault code that will assist in diagnostics. See the attached picture. The dealer service tool should be able to give them more detailed information. Unfortunately as is usually the way it is clear that historical...

Sorry to hear you are having this problem. There appears to be a number of reasons for this "sudden off" issue and solutions range from simply reseating the battery through to replacing the RideControl One switch module or motor. I've collated some info and questions from a few posts related...

Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I wondered what the hell the "Smart Gateway" was.... So I went looking. It appears that the Smart Gateway is the name of the new interface for the RideControl ONEl units. From a German website: Giant and Liv have just presented their new models for the 2021 season. The displays and...

As Dave says the RideControl ONE panel on my 2021 Stance E +2 also turns itself off when the charger is plugged in. However on my earlier Fathom the LED on the RideControl ONE would indicate charge level. The EnergyPak chargers also vary from model to model. The one supplied with the Stance...

Widespread Giant motor creaking problem - time for a recall?

The creaking caused by engine mount bolts appear to be a common problem with a range of Giant e-bikes. The fix is to remove each (3) engine mount bolts individually lubricate them with either a lithium or molybdenum based grease, refit and retorque to 22 Nm. You will need a T30 TorX bit, the...

Ride Control, EVO Display and Auto setting for 2019 Liv Vall-E+

I do not use Auto all that often, mostly I'm manual and upshift/downshift. My point was that for some users auto is a major drawcard. When I have used auto, and it was working properly (in some of the software versions) it seemed to work OK. I would agree that battery usage is higher in Auto...

Ride Control, EVO Display and Auto setting for 2019 Liv Vall-E+

Thank you for your thoughts but this is rather an old thread and these posts are from March, there has been a number of software updates since then and Auto Assist is now activated and controlled in a different manner. You may well prefer to manual over auto but for some owners auto is a...
