Please recommend a kit for me.

I should clarify. I have 2 really nice electric bikes that I love. They are both governed at 20 mph max. They are great rides but I was never a big fan of being governed. I have no interest in breaking the sound barrier on a bicycle... I would just like to know I might be able to approach that...

That’s interesting Rich. Everything I have read on this site refers to bicycles. Some of them are capable of speeds that I would never endeavor to approach... yet they are still bicycles. I haven’t shared the rest of my plans for my summer project and any additional upgrades I might have in mind...

Could you post a link to them? That would be helpful. Thanks.

Please recommend a kit for me.

I would be interested in the kit you have been using. Reliability is also important and that sounds like a good setup.

Please recommend a kit for me.

Cool. Nearly all of my riding is on paved surfaces with occasional lengthy gradual hills. My interest is in speed and long distance on a charge. I am over 230 pounds and the bike unmodified is around 50 pounds.

Please recommend a kit for me.

Once the weather warms here in the Northeast I am going to pull the trigger on a kit. I am looking for something that is at least 1000 Watts and at least 12 AH battery. I have been looking at the Dillenger ARC off road kit or the 1500 W Samsung 20 AH kit but have not decided on either or even...

Hi tech solution to a low tech issue.

That’s cool. Several companies offer them but some plug into the car lighter etc. what I liked about the phone is that I didn’t have to tap the bike’s power supply. With the screen on constantly it munches the phone battery. I worked around that by attaching it to an auxiliary dedicated battery...

    Forks for DIY

Hey, that’s very interesting info. Why do you think there is so much negativity about installing on anything but steel dropouts? That’s all I have read. I find your experience unique and I think it’s cool you have had success with aluminum and carbon even! Do you it’s because of the specific...

    Forks for DIY

Thanks for clarifying that. I didn’t think that sounded like a good idea. I have a Surface 604 Colt that has a quick release front wheel and I guess it’s a convenience but I don’t trust it as much as bolts.

    Forks for DIY

Thanks Rich. I don’t think I’m going to go with a quick release though. I think I’m going to bolt that drive wheel on securely. Just agonizing over which bike to use. Today I’m thinking Micargi Falcon GT.

    Forks for DIY

Hey, thanks for the input. I am thinking about using the Framed 29er adult BMX bike and possibly doing a front hub install. The forks look pretty beefy.

I am considering doing a DIY project on a bike that has “hi-ten steel forks with Chromoly legs”. Does that sound sufficient for installing a hub motor? Thanks in advance.

Hi tech solution to a low tech issue.

I hear you Harry. I just like that I can see the rear with just a glance and not have to be diverted from what’s ahead.

    Customized Voltbikes

That’s funny Rich, I haven’t even considered that. But thank you. I was very pleased with my ride today. The more upright position from my bars is so much better ... and all my new toys are just making me so happy.

Rear view cam installed!! Riding with it, it actually is better than I expected. Just removed the mirror. It’s going to be a fun summer. I recommend this idea to anyone else who is paranoid lol.
