    Pictures of your build.

Hey David, I built my own this summer, cost a little under 3K. I have pics and info posted in this section. Nice bike!

Any Colt owners, a quick question.

34 miles on 1 charge with a fair amount of throttling. 20+ MPH downhill. It’s a nice agile bike.

Questions about batteries and dual motors.

How cool is that?!!! Thanks so much @Thomas Jaszewski Nothing else like seeing it in print! I’m going to use independent batteries at full power. I can hardly wait to start scratching my head lol.

Questions about batteries and dual motors.

Hey @harryS, take a look at the video in the link I posted above. He pretty much spells it out ABC. I probably won’t be trying that until next summer as I am going to use the rig I have set up this summer for the rest of the season. It is just a tantalizing idea.

Questions about batteries and dual motors.

Hey Rich C. You ask a lot of really good questions. Remember when you asked if if I was looking for a moped lol? Did you get a chance to follow up on my response? Did you look at Micah’s video? I think that I might possibly be onto something here. It may violate the 20 mph rule.. lol but...

Questions about batteries and dual motors.

Hey Rich, I haven’t actually done this yet but it seems possible at first glance. I am running a Golden Motor with an integrated controller and governing the system using a Cycle Analyst. Micah Toll has an interesting video here https://electrek.co/2018/04/30/all-wheel-drive-electric-bicycles/...

    Is 20 mph too slow?

I think it is funny.... and telling that everyone wants to go over 20 mph LOL. Go ahead everybody let me have it .... Especially you my friend Rich “ “ We are all human, we want to go fast. we want to test the limits that is our nature. We would have never gone to the moon without that type...

    Is 20 mph too slow?

Hey Dave. If it’s not “necessary” why do it? Maybe because it’s “fun”?! All good feelings toward you bro.

    Is 20 mph too slow?

Hi, just my 2 cents. Started riding again last year after a really long time off bikes. 20 MPH is fast on a bicycle, I typically ride between 12 and 15 MPH. Every now and then, I see a long straightaway and I feel like blasting down it. I notice lately that my Voltbike either has a mind of its...

Questions about batteries and dual motors.

Hi@harryS I am thinking about running both motors off of two different batteries and on one throttle, that should be a blast. Thank you for your input as well.

Questions about batteries and dual motors.

Thanks Ann, I am leaning toward running both motors with independent power supplies. It just seems less risky and achieves the same end result. Thanks for the reply.

Questions about batteries and dual motors.

Some questions for the community; I have a question about running 2 motors off 1 battery simultaneously. I am running a 48 Volt 1000 Watt Direct Drive motor front hub, powered by a 48 Volt 10 AH Lifepo4 battery. Not sure what the max discharge current is. I am toying with the idea of adding...

Have you ridden rail trails in the Midwest?

I have been riding an old rail trail here in NY and it also states “ no motorized vehicles”. Last year I pedaled past a “trail cop” twice in the same day. The first time he just looked at me quizzically. On the way back he seemed somewhat more “interested” in my Yukon 750, but I was PEDALING and...

    Nirve DIY Part 1

Hi Ann, i am really happy with it now that it’s powered. Trying to get to a speed where she wasn’t wobbly all over before I motorized it was tough for me, is all. That big rake up front and the forward pedal position was a little past my capability unmotorized at this point. With the pedal...

    Nirve DIY Part 1

There are a few different places the battery can be mounted but I love the look of the HUGE open space in the frame and I didn’t want to change that. The bike is very heavy, all steel frame etc. but I love it. It is very customizable.

    Nirve DIY Part 1

Part 2 I contacted Gary Salo from Golden Motor Canada, where I first saw the bike and he was happy to help me motorize her! Gary is a great guy too Needless to say.. the bike stock was 650 dollars US. The kit was around 1400 dollars US. That’s 2000 ish. I have spent an additional almost 1000...

    Nirve DIY Part 1

This is my first DIY project. I found Electric bikes in 2017. I bought a Voltbike Yukon 750 that is a great bike, and a Surface 604 Colt that is also great in its class. Both bikes do what they advertised. I am very happy I’m up on 2 wheels again at 55. Court reviewed the EG Monte Carlo which is...
