Pulled the trigger on a Scorpion today

It is due to the different motors, the one in the Hyper being newly developed specifically for the bike. Scorpion = 750 watt motor (nominal?) Hyper = 1,000 watt motor, nominal. According to one of the videos, Tora specifies that "peak power is about 1,800 watts." In the same video he...

    Bosch Design Vision concept

It looks good, even though in a strange way it looks like a BMX bike and a Stromer got together one evening, drank a little too much wine, and let nature take its course.:D

Roadster 2.0! And other intel from Ride1Up founder

Link is live again: https://ride1up.com/product/roadster-v2/ I wonder whether they just put it up temporarily before so that Electrek could get the info for their story? But now it should be up permanently. My original memory was incorrect @Asher, they are selling the Roadster 2.0 in 2 frame...

Pulled the trigger on a Scorpion today

I think that the street tires which come on these are smooth enough to have pretty good rolling efficiency, especially since they can be run up at the listed pressures since the Scorp's already have f/r suspension. Plus the mag wheels with what, 5 spokes?, are probably also more efficient to...

Roadster 2.0! And other intel from Ride1Up founder

Well, it is the third of its type (stealthy belt drive single speed urban bike) that I know of, so the sellers apparently see a market. Potentially less of a theft target if left locked up outside. Plus will be much easier to carry up stairs to a second or third level apartment especially for...

Roadster 2.0! And other intel from Ride1Up founder

So the Roadster 2.0 is an interesting little bike for riding in flat areas. I still have a bit of a soft spot in my heart for the Luna Fixed, even though I have never ridden one nor even seen one in person. But I love the looks and it was the first of this 'urban single speed' genre I saw, and...

Now more info on Electrek - See it before it disappears! ;) https://electrek.co/2020/07/05/exclusive-ride1up-roadster-v2-995-belt-drive-electric-bike/ (oops, @Asher beat me to it)

Roadster 2.0! And other intel from Ride1Up founder

Strange - When I use my own link this morning, it came right up. When I refresh the page - gone. What I recall: Shipping in Sept Belt drive, single speed 7ah integrated battery 24 mph top speed 32# weight 350 nominal/500 peak motor Colors - black, red, white (or silver? They only had a pic...

Very glad to hear that it can be pedaled! Looks to be a good height for you. If you don't mind... height and inseam?

'Zen Skunkworks' - a new model in the development

Bosch, no doubt, makes an excellent drive system. But one 'downfall' (at least to me) is the inability to tune or de-restrict their Gen 4 motors. Do you plan on your hub motor bike(s) to be available in Class 1, 2 or 3?

who says you don't get a workout?

And that is a darned fine idea! I just might put something like that together... Especially these days. The guy I was speaking to this afternoon was wearing a very nice chin guard, as opposed to an effective mask.

who says you don't get a workout?

Nope, you are totally wrong. According to the guy who stopped and talked to us outside the market this afternoon (probably in his 60's) you couldn't get exercise on e-bikes! ;) Him - Hey, those are electric bikes? Me - Yup. Him - But you don't get any exercise on those! Me - Well, you get just...

'Zen Skunkworks' - a new model in the development

@Ravi Kempaiah, This sounds like it will be a fun project to watch. Coupla' Q's: 1) What torque do you estimate out of your hub motor? 2) Assuming a 'standard' (if there is any such thing, especially with new technology) prototype/development timeline, when do you anticipate having first...

Simple 50 Cent Cruise Control For Bikes With a Twist Throttle

Looks like there might be room between the right end of the twist throttle and the grip. Folks from the motorcycle world have also used appropriately sized o-rings which create enough friction between the 2 parts to hold the throttle open where desired. O-ring can be rolled out of the groove...

    Anyone gone back to acoustic?

I tried it. For all of about 3/4 mile. Put it back away into the shed. E-bikes are just too much more fun, even in lower levels of assist. I had even been thinking about picking up an Orbea Gain M20, as last year's models are still available in my size (XL) and at a really great price in...

Pulled the trigger on a Scorpion today

Congrats! We'll all be waiting for your comments after the first rides. Looks like I won't be seeing our Brushed Hyper until late next month but Juiced seems to be making great progress in manufacture and delivery. I wonder where their pricing will go on these bikes as they seem to fit very...

New bikes! Looking for proper accessories

I'm surprised, and a little disappointed, that Haibike apparently chose not to include a sidestand on a trekking model! On the models I have seen (and purchased), Haibike uses a bolt-on hanger for the sidestand. See photo of my Trekking 7.0: So (if you have the appropriate hole in the frame...
