    Ride Control Firmware

Hey gang, I love to ride by myself but in the past few years my wife and I have taken to riding in organized rides around Texas. This year put a temporary stop to that. Back to riding by myself and waving to other, distant riders. Not much opportunity to stop and admire other peoples' rides...

    Ride Control Firmware

Hello, I think I concur...in previous form, the Auto system did 'seem' seamless or stepless. Very smooth and the rider didn't have to think about it. Derailleur shifting was matched by the Auto system such that the rider noticed nothing. There were no steps, pauses or obvious dependence on...

    Ride Control Firmware

Hello riverracer, Glad to hear that your auto setting is running fine. I have just had some update issues and am often looking for people that have useful information. The manual modes are working well. The auto setting has developed surges and delays. I think most riders are having no...

    Ride Control Firmware

I wish I could tell you more...I am just not an electronics guy. One thing for your area that you might find helpful if you use a bike rack for transport. Giant sells a black plastic cover that fits over the electrical contact end of the battery compartment (bottom, socket area where the...

    Ride Control Firmware

Hello Gbart, I am very new to this so I can easily be wrong. I think that all the serious firmware upgrades for the bike itself are done by bike shops. It seems that the APP only modifies some elements within the bike. I would appreciate it if you let me know how your Auto Assist is working.

    Ride Control Firmware

Really interesting. I just took my Explore out for a short test ride. Very first thing I noticed is that the headlight indicator (I have no hardwired headlight (use 'light in motion' light)) is now 'ON' and cannot be switched to 'OFF' (so far). This was not the case prior to this most recent...

    Ride Control Firmware

Hello Coolbob, The procedure does seem to have worked. With respect to the signal strength...Finally had to move my bike right up next to the router. Signal strength indicator didn't change but the update started immediately and only took about 3 minutes. Many thanks. Alvin

    Ride Control Firmware

Hello Coolbob and anyone that reads this... Hoping that someone has had more luck than I. Still trying to update the RideControlOne app on my phone. Took it off and then reloaded. Confirmed that password and email address still worked. On attempting to start the update the little bike icon...

    Ride Control Firmware

Thanks! I will keep trying to load it. Been thinking that it might even be heavy internet traffic during the holidays and everyone being at home.

    Ride Control Firmware

Hello Stefan, Many thanks. You are, of course, correct. Just infuriating on occasion. My Explore rides well and is fantastically predictable (no surprises in the hardware). I have read about the Bosch equipment. Hello Stefan, Thanks, you are, of course, correct. I let my frustration get...

    Ride Control Firmware

I now what you mean. We spent several months reading, renting and riding. Already owned two Giant dino-bikes and loved them. Now my wife won't download the software onto her phone and refuses to take her LIV ebike into the shop for fear of what will get irreversibly messed up. I actually...

    Hi from Kamloops, British Columbia.

Hey gang, A question for someone out there... I just got notified of another update for the Giant software for my phone. When I tried to download, the text said it should take about 5 minutes. Twenty minutes later the little cyclist character was still scrolling across the screen and there was...

    Hi from Kamloops, British Columbia.

Hello, Just a question. I see that the center of gravity is much lower on the recumbents. I hear they are more stable. Did you notice much difference when you installed the battery?

    Hi from Kamloops, British Columbia.

I feel the same way about my Explore. It goes everywhere and for everything. I keep looking at my Revolt (Giant) and Awol Elite (Specialized) and think..."I'll ride them this weekend"...but it just doesn't work out that way. Way too much fun on the Explore. And I don't think I will ever ride...

Switched to an e-bike. It took me too long to smarten up.

Hey gang, Better riders than I. I started riding in 1961 and never could master the foot on the pedal 'flying start'. Hats off to you. Long ago I had to admit to not being a very fluid and flexible rider. I like the tilt the bike over technique but I have planted my face in the dirt a...

Switched to an e-bike. It took me too long to smarten up.

Hello Dallant, Please look for Black Ops seat post and Alta seat posts. They are on Amazon and and various bike shops and especially mail order parts suppliers. My mistake on saying mountain bike...they are normally found on BMX bikes (wouldn't ride one...I am too old and easily broken now.).

Switched to an e-bike. It took me too long to smarten up.

Hello Dallant, If it's the black Explore your looking at...it's simple 'layback' seat post that is often used on mountain bikes (I think). Only about $10(U.S.). Have to buy an old style clamp at LBS. Could not find a seat post with enough setback. Also need a shim to fit properly into frame...

Switched to an e-bike. It took me too long to smarten up.

Bike Humor...sort of. For those of us that have watched too much TV while we were young. Why get an e-bike for Christmas? For the only time in our lives, we can 'have the strength of 10 Grinches, plus 2.'

    Second back flat tire

I agree with the spare tube. Even tubeless and with the plug kit and extra sealant I am at heart a coward...the spare tubes are my insurance and psychological security blanket against a very long walk home.

    Second back flat tire

Yeah, mine are rather noisy and I can feel a faint vibration/hum that isn't there with the road tires on my other machines...but those tires are too light for my Explore. Also, I think I cut a few kilometers off the battery range when I switched to the Ramblers. Seems that the rolling...
