New Hyper Scorpion - not all electronics working

These are customers who have already paid for their bikes. Salvaging parts from a bike that's already been sold but not shipped is not a better plan. There's no good plan, as far as I can see. I don't think anyone is defending it. As far as the warranty, if I understand what you're saying...

New Hyper Scorpion - not all electronics working

Disagreeing again. Covid 19 has seriously disrupted supply lines. What made sense before may not be possible now, or less possible anyway. They may have planned to do it exactly as you say, and then with factories, trucking, port facilities, etc. being shut down in China, they had to take what...

New Hyper Scorpion - not all electronics working

We're usually on the same page, JR, but not this time. Tora has prioritized getting bikes out to the Indiegogo supporters and those who ordered the bike early on the Juiced website. He mentions this in his blog all the time, and in the multiple emails that have gone out to everyone who ordered...

New Hyper Scorpion - not all electronics working

I don't know, I think you're over-reacting. I've been sympathetic to the actual problem, but not this part. Look, earlier this spring I started having trouble with the motor on my CCS. The clutch was slipping, Sometimes it would work fine, other times it would just slip. First, it took a while...

    Scorpion: minor flaws

All accurate, except for the automatic modulation part. The cruise control maintains a steady current, not a steady speed. It will slow way down going up hills, speed way up going down hills, etc. But it works well enough, I use it at times.

Is a class 3 ebike adjusted to go only 20 mph class 2?

Just for an example, with the bike I know the best: Juiced Bikes ships their bikes -- most of them, anyway, AFAIK -- as Class 2. On my recent purchase, the sticker says class 2, so it's not just theoretical. However, a class 3 sticker was included, and the software is adjustable for class 3. So...

    Scorpion: minor flaws

I've ridden motorcycles for hours at a time and the twist throttle is fine, like you say. When I rode from Boston to California in 1976, on a Honda 550K, I was doing really long days in the saddle. At times I'd get some muscle strain up around my shoulder blade, but my wrist was fine. I've got...

    Scorpion: minor flaws

I was thinking, as I wrote that post, about getting a thumb throttle and making all the changes myself. When I go for a ride later today, I'm going to take a look at how practical that is.

Hi all! I'm new here and to ebikes and I need some help.....

Give some consideration to the Juiced Bikes Scorpion. It checks off a lot of your boxes. At 5'4", it would fit you like a glove, and you might like the step-through frame if your health issues involve any restrictions on range of motion. My wife borrows mine regularly and likes it a lot -- her...

    Scorpion: minor flaws

I don't like the cockpit set-up. It's basically okay, no one will have any real trouble using it. But there was one decision made that necessitated a series of bad choices, a cascade of minor flaws. They decided they had to have a twist-grip throttle, I imagine to make it more like a moped. And...

    The Scorpion is deceptively efficient

Oh yeah, if you're over 5'11", save yourself some time, go ahead and buy the tall seat accessory.

    The Scorpion is deceptively efficient

I get 35-40 miles on a charge, depending on how much throttle I use. I stay in Eco-1-2 most of the time. Rarely up to 3-S-R. Doing 18 mph on the level is easy in level 1. Only a tad more work in Eco. You won't have any trouble with that from your description. I use the throttle in short bursts...

New Hyper Scorpion - not all electronics working

The LCD display on my Scorpion has some minor differences from the one on my CCS. For instance, the mileage can't re re-set with the Power button-Down button combination. However, there is a trip odometer function, which I always wanted on the CCS. The mileage on the main display can be re-set...

Brushed Aluminum HyperScorpion- Setup and First Ride Impressions

Your experience is similar to mine on the (non-Hyper) Scorpion, allowing for differences in motor, controller, and gearing. I rarely go below 6th gear (7 total, instead of 9 on the Hyper.) It's easy to go pretty fast without a lot of effort, and the lower gears just aren't needed. I wish I had 9...

    The Scorpion is deceptively efficient

After 100 miles on the Scorpion, something has become clear: it's deceptively efficient. Like most of us, looking at the geometry, I figured most people would depend on the throttle, with the pedals to keep it legally in the non-licensed bicycle world. But when I went looking at step-throughs...

    Impressed with Juiced bikes but??????

I've owned two Juiced Bikes. A CrossCurrent S -- which at the time was the top of the line, and on which I've put thousands of miles -- and recently a Scorpion. Juiced Bikes has its issues. Quality control is not perfect. But whose is? If you want the kind of QC you get on a Riese and Muller...

Pulled the trigger on a Scorpion today

Assist levels: 0 (lights and LCD screen work, and you can use the throttle, but no pedal assist); Eco, 1, 2, 3, Sport, and Race. As far as I can tell, the only difference between Sport and Race is that the throttle will keep working above 20 mph in Race. I couldn't say what the range of each...
