    Is Tesla serious?

Concept design. Won't be like that when and if it ever comes to market. One problem is, no pedals. Without pedals, it has to be registered like a moped instead of the more free-and-easy bicycle, a major plus to the ebike as we know it. I don't mind in the least if Tesla wants to play around...

    Battery life

An unscientific observation: with reasonable care, you just might replace your ebike before you replace the battery. Here's an example: I bought an ebike in Jan. 2018 and rode it over 4,000 miles over the next 2.5 years. While the capacity dropped some -- I could get around 60 miles if I did...

What's the thinking behind a torque sensor?

I never found that it got harder to pedal my torque-sensing bike when I got tired. It was not that dependent on the torque-sensing. Backing off on pedal-pressure a bit meant the cadence sensors took over. For me, torque sensing was for acceleration, not for cruising. Maybe it's just the way I...

Juiced warranty claim on ripcurrent. Still like my juiced bike!

I always replace the stock pedals with 3-bearing pedals. They are sturdier and last longer. Also, you can get a color that complements the bike!

    What are the risks?

I've had great service from my LBS over the years, including new tires, replacing the rear wheel when the motor went kaput, and basic maintenance. We take my wife's Pedego there, too, rather than drive to the nearest Pedego dealer an hour away, for standard stuff, even though Pedego does a good...

Bike continues to accelerate after i stop peddling.

I've owned two ebikes. They both have motors that continue to operate after I stop pedaling, also for 3-5 seconds. I've gotten used to it and just take it into account. Like someone else said, if I need to slow down or stop sooner than that, the cut-outs in the brake system stops the motor...

Juiced Bikes Black Friday Sale 2020

When I bought my Scorpion, I sold the CCS (with the accessories I bought for it) for $1200. After 2.5 years and over 4000 miles, I think that's pretty good re-sale value.

Juiced Customer Support: Does it exist? Absolutely! Just be patient during these crazy times.

Sometimes their customer service is good and sometimes its the pits. I've been happy with the bikes I've purchased from them and just ordered one more on the Black Friday discount.

Juiced Bikes Black Friday Sale 2020

It's a darn good price for the CCX. I used to get 45-50 miles riding in Eco or 1, in light breezes, on the older model CCS with the 17.4 Ah 48V battery (hasn't been available for 2.5 years. The battery, that is.) I'm a heavy rider and there are very few hills where I live. Someone of less...

    How fast are people riding?

When I had a Juiced Bikes CrossCurrent S, riding 25-28 mph on level roads was easy. My top speed, on a downhill, would have been 30-32. I could have gone faster but didn't see any reason to push it. I didn't do those kind of speeds often, generally riding at 18-22 mph for commuting and 14-16...

Making a new pedal assist system for ebike

That sounds good. Keep us posted. I've often wished that my cadence sensor would measure the rate of spin, and not just a simple on-off "switch."

600+ miles on my Scorpion -- some thoughts

I've been enjoying the Scorpion. There are things I miss about the CCS but on the whole it was a good choice. Quick recap: the arthritis in my knees made it more difficult to get on and off the CCS so I wanted a step-through frame. Decided on the Scorpion, despite its variance from a standard...

    Juiced Batter

That's true. I don't think it's intentional. It's just that there is a hot circuit and it lights the green light. I think the manufacturers of the charger could have put in a diode to eliminate that. But they might see that as a minor but unnecessary expense.

    Juiced Batter

The controller doesn't affect charging. That's up to the battery management system built into the battery. There should be no difference between on-bike and off-bike charging. I've never charged mine on-bike, on either my CCS or my Scorpion.

    Juiced = zero support

I'm glad Juiced got your problem sorted and that you weren't sidelined while you were waiting. I have guarded optimism that they will get on top of their chronic customer service problem, fueled largely by unremitting expansion without corresponding growth in the service dept. Maybe they really...
