    This is the bike...

7200w? Absolutely motorcycle. That pesky extra zero.... It is nice that we have a free country and the technology to make all sorts of nifty toys. I guess if I owned 100 acres of dirt paths in the woods, this type of bike might be cool... But, if they are marketing it for road use, then it...

    Importance of inseam measurement

What is funny is I was able to sit "heads up" sooo much better in the bigger frame. The handlebars were right in front of me instead of way down there....so it brought my eyes up. 1 caveat is these were rental bikes, so it is possible the comfort was due to adjustments that had been made...

    Am I a hypocrite?

Our roads are populated by all manner of mobility enhancers. People on skates, bikes, horses, convertables, model t's, semi tractor trailers, tractors, 3 wheelers, etc, gas powered, electric powered, human powered, automatic transmissions, manual transmissions... The only signs I see that...

    Importance of inseam measurement

Ok, so I mentioned in another thread or two.. 1. I've ridden a hybrid bike for years 2. The thing was a hand killer! 3. Tried some new bikes to figure out something better 4. Tried a Men's large hybrid frame, and it fit! I am a 5'7 female. What the heck? 5. Measured my inseam... 32.5-33...

    Bad Experience Changing Out Rotor

You poor thing. Definitely feel your pain. Once had a $600 flat tire because of wrong-sized nuts. (car, not bike). Thanks for sharing, it really will help others!

    ST2 mods, tuning?

Ravi had this issue too. He plans on getting drop bars. Don't know if there is something you can add to your existing bar...

First Flat on my Fat Tire :( What is best?

The one time I went to Vegas, I had $10 to gamble. There was a game that you can bet red or black (I forget what it was). There was a board that recorded all the previous rolls. So I look at the board and see the last 12 were red. I bet black, thinking it was due. Promptly lost my money...

    Motor Types and Bike Makers

BionX is also direct drive. Found in Ohm bikes and a couple other brands. It is also a kit that can be added to a regular bike.

    Am I a hypocrite?

When humans are moving around each other, even at a walk, there can be friction. Think about walking in a mall. You pass the old couple pushing walkers, or you get passed by the speed-walking soccer mom. It isn't really a problem as long as there is room for passing. The general speed in a...

Rode the BionX for the first time

Thank you very much! You have given me much food for thought. Yes, indeed, I have some very steep hills to get home. @JayVee, were you able to try the mountain mode? Assuming it would give enough power after the start, maybe standing on the pedals would get it started. ?? Fortunately...

Rode the BionX for the first time

Sorry, yeah. D500. Wished for a hill to try it out on, but smooth as silk on the flat. I weigh 300lbs, and felt the motor wasn't struggling a bit, in fact, had it on the hardest gear just about the whole time and assist level 3. Realized later should have lowered the gear, then probably...

Pedego City Commuter 26" or 28" wheels

How right J.R. is! I actually just came back from trying some bikes at my lbs. For years I rode a med sized hybrid bike. Very hard on my hands. Just thought it was normal. Dude put me on a men's large frame, and it was a revelation! Hands finally weren't supporting my entire weight...

Pedego City Commuter 26" or 28" wheels

I recently rode the city commuter with 28" wheels. I am only 5'7, and found the size to my liking. The smaller wheels would be more agile for fast turns, etc.. but I assume you aren't planning on hardcore mountain biking. Go with the bigger wheels.

    48v 1000w kit on 60v.

You might wanna go to endless sphere for many of your build questions. I think they are more active builders over there. 'Round here people tend to get prebuilt bikes or systems. Do be careful. Batteries can be super dangerous if you don't know what you're doin'.

Rode the BionX for the first time

So far I have only tried 3 ebikes.... 2 Pedegos and a hybrid? bike equipped with a 500w Bionx kit. Loved the Bionx, although couldn't try it out on a hill. The Pedegos didn't feel quite as natural to me. Didn't ride the Pedegos long though, just around the block. Can't wait for the DC expo...
