    Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra 1000 Review

I believe my front brake came set up on the left, but that's how I like it. The bike will handle hills better than anything, really. Loads of power and gear range, incredibly smooth shifting. 4" tire perks: makes the ride smoother, increased traction available at correct tire PSI, increased...

Serious bike on bike crash. Head on.

What I'm saying is that from a physics perspective, the collision energy of two head on cyclists is similar to a moving cyclist of the combined velocity hitting a stationary cyclist in the same orientation. You're correct that it's not the same as hitting a fixed wall at that speed, though. You...

Serious bike on bike crash. Head on.

Try it with bicycles some time, not an arbitrary test with advanced vehicles engineered around crash protection. While it may be true that two opposing moments may result in effects similar to hitting a stationary and fixed obstacle, it is NOT the same as say, hitting another stationary cyclist...

    ebike insurance

In Canada, all perils insurance for your ebike itself can be had through: https://pedalpowerinsurance.ca/ They will also do liability and disability, I believe.

New Bafang Ultra - 1000W Torque sensored motor!

It really depends who programmed it though. Bosch will always be smooth because they have their settings locked down tight... good for mass market, bad for high performance or enthusiasts. A well tuned Ultra motor is definitely kickass though. As we know from experience, Biktrix tunes their...

New Bafang Ultra - 1000W Torque sensored motor!

3000W is really pushing it for this motor. I suggest 2500W is the absolute reasonable limit for the Ultra motor, if you push it further you risk premature wear out on the bearings and the stator windings/insulation due to big temperature spikes. HPC and Luna have found this out the hard way. I...

New Bafang Ultra - 1000W Torque sensored motor!

I've seen a few complaints now from guys with Frey bikes and their Ultra motors being poorly tuned/configured. I've also got a Biktrix Ultra and it has none of these issues, the throttle and torque/PAS are very well configured and it rides like a dream, it's by far the most intuitive and...

Possible to add brake lights to a Juggernaut Ultra?

Sure! Mine's the Meilan X5, it doesn't have the smarter features of that round light but it does have the big cell capacity and a very wide, high visibility light. I also don't use the remote or any of the X5s other features, I just manually turn it on and off via the side button (only...

Possible to add brake lights to a Juggernaut Ultra?

Yep the first one there is a good unit. I use a tail light which takes a whole 18650 cell, put a nice Sanyo one in there (3500mAh) and it lasts for ages.

    Odometer Inaccuracy - Stunner LT

Nothing wrong with the bike (besides tweaking settings further), that's just the nature of a speed/odo using wheel revolutions, cars will do the same if you don't have the right tire size. Strava/GPS will be the best bet, if your control doesn't have a setting for 29 precisely (the typical OD...

    Bafang Ultra Max Mid-Drive Options?

Sorry to hear that! It's a hell of a bike, I got rid of all my gas-burning vehicles since it's taken over all my commuting and getting around.

    Bafang Ultra Max Mid-Drive Options?

How ya been digging the Jug Ultra? Been riding one as well for the past 2000km and loving it. Chain replacement time, good lifespan. I bought another 1110 chain but it would be good to look at all the SRAM 11-speed options: pc-1110: grey steel inner and outer plates ($14) pc-1130: grey steel...

If the Juggernaut Ultra 1000 is power limited to 500W, does it still have 160Nm torque?

Not that I condone breaking the law, but 500W limit is not enforced in any way. I feel safer with more power for defensive riding, so I leave my bikes entirely unlimited, and ride with care and courtesy for everyone else (pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike).

Juggernaut Ultra 1000 with thinner tires?

Crazy! Although not too crazy when it's 29er format we're talking about. I hadn't even considered that option (but I like the wider stuff)

If the Juggernaut Ultra 1000 is power limited to 500W, does it still have 160Nm torque?

Voltage doesn't change, so amperage has to be limited to hit 500W max. Since the amperage is being limited then yes, it will not hit the same peak torque at initial rotation, more like 80Nm or so. (far as I know anyway).

Juggernaut Ultra 1000 with thinner tires?

Yep, all of the latest Juggernauts have the option for 27.5" x 3.0", which is pretty popular I think. I've got a set on mine with Wrathchilds and they rock. Next wheel set coming soon on mine is 4" Cake Eaters on 27.5 as well. I think the thinnest I'd ever run on these bikes is 2.8" on 27.5...

2019 Biktrix Full Suspension Juggernaut, Test Drive Impressions

Took the FS for a spin this weekend, was very impressed with the changes they've incorporated in the rear end! Quick breakdown on highlights: Linkage has been considerably improved, the link plates above the shock are now attached together, to prevent any extra sideplay of the rear end. Quality...
