    Hydra drivetrain update and parts

Ah. I have the basic pin too. I tried google and watching several youtube videos to find out what this mysterious BAT pin is for when mine fell out. Didn't I see that the adjustable pin only fits certain iterations of the Magura brake? And, people who had the adjustable pin commented on one...

    Hydra drivetrain update and parts

I was very lucky then. I had a BAT pin in upside down and it came loose. I was fortunate enough to find all three parts and install it correctly. (BAT pins may have started out life with some noble purpose, now they're just an opportunity for your brake lever to seperate from the rest of the...

What's holding back the e-bike boom? Research, safety, and bias (article)

Ahhhh.....one member here has been using a bike instead of a automobile for 2 1/2 years. And I think I've read of several others pushing the envelope of bike use way out.

    Hydra drivetrain update and parts

I'm sorry you went through some issues. Mine arrived essentially perfect and I'm over here feeling a bit guilty. But, once you're on the trails the fun you will have. Last Thursday I went 5 miles up a FireRoad at 15 to 20 miles per hour to join up with my wife who had traveled ahead while I...

    Camping, Glamping, Bikamping

I bought a Ram 5500 cab and chassis a couple of years ago and when adding all the options I wanted it to be built with 4x4 was $3500 more. $3500 over the lifetime usability of that truck was pretty modest in my mind.

Glad you're getting it worked out. Bikes are funest when they're ready to ride.

Best cheap 29er FS bike for conversion?

Anything you're interested in is of interest to someone else, me for one. :) The member @PedalUma might be able to shed light on whether FS bikes are problematic to bring to successful conversion.

    QuickrStuff hitch bike rack

Coincidentally we followed behind a car with a Ride One Up(?) rack today. FIrst I've seen in a year, and it had three bikes on it. I went back over the development story of QuikrStuff a bit with my wife and said, I'm so glad we got the improvements the new rack has.

Do 13 to 16 foot trailers tend to do all right with a hitch mount on the back so I could put 200 lbs of bikes and rack back there?

Best cheap 29er FS bike for conversion?

I'll be interested to hear how your full suspension conversion goes. One person who posts here has done a lot of conversions and I thought I read he does not do FS. I assumed, but do not know, that it was because of fitment issues. Welcome to posting by the way Metsger....

    Hydra Quick Start Thread

No. I haven't got that together just yet. Wow, what a generous and incredible offer. I'll be looking for a way to take you up on that. In the meantime thanks for the 'controlled launch' methodology. I'll use that immediately. Actually one other thing I want to post about is how refined...

Getting on the Hydra band wagon

Looking back a few posts I see that I had promised to post what the Tannus feel like in use - then I promptly forgot about it. I couldn't attribute any certain feel to having them in. Maybe I could perceive something if I rode with them, pulled them out, and rode the same terrain again. It's...

    Camping, Glamping, Bikamping

Wow impressive. Both pictures are for different reasons. My wife and I are going to set a small cargo trailer up with traveling to good ebike riding in mind.

    Hydra Quick Start Thread

Let me begin by saying it would be easy for most riders to be better than me, after that, here is a warning. Start out gently with the assist levels you use to test your new Hydra. I almost always start out in assist level three or less out of five. Every time I have set the assist level...

    Helmet Recommendation

We have the Sena mesh system. They prefer line of sight. If I were guessing they start breaking up some where around a city block to two blocks distant in woody areas. For people riding in cell ph coverage areas you could always Bluetooth call on the helmet to transmit useful info.
