What's holding back the e-bike boom? Research, safety, and bias (article)

I live on the coast an hour north of San Francisco. My fantasy/day dream is that we stop making excuses for why it can't be done and create dedicated bike lanes. One way to do it here would be to put in drain pipes on one or both sides of roadway that account for 100 year flooding or...

How does one get into mountain biking?

Given what you said about your Trek I would research putting a motor on that. If I understand correctly it is challenging with full suspension and quite possibly will not work with a carbon fiber front triangle. (Yours is CF right?) The motor I think would come close to mirroring an Orbea...

How does one get into mountain biking?

My wife and I went straight toward eMTB when we started into biking a year ago as a way to ride car (less) terrain. She is going to attend an all women's class with a pro trainer in a couple of weeks. I will look for one I or both of us can also go to soon. In our original ignorance we bought...

Tips for loading heavy electric bikes onto car racks by yourself

This is a licence plate hanger they came up with which easily transfers from car to rack. (Or thief back pocket.) I'm only going to use that if we get a third license plate made as it is so easily removed.

Tips for loading heavy electric bikes onto car racks by yourself

You can barely make out an out of focus blue handle between the bike tires. That's what you turn to tension up hitch tongue in reciever. My wife just started practicing using this on her car so she can transport her bike without me.

Tips for loading heavy electric bikes onto car racks by yourself

I was following this car with what I believe is the One Up rack. The whole time I'm watching the four bike rack sway back and forth from side to side. And I was thinking of some of the other features the QuikrStuff rack has. They seem to be a big plus in my mind - I know some people here have...

Tips for loading heavy electric bikes onto car racks by yourself

That looks good for not having to deadline an entire bike all at one time.

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

It will be interesting to see what uses this bike is adopted for and loved the most. I watched a marketing video which included "racing" two other ebikes up a dirt hill. A polite tester/competitor would have told the two other riders to go ahead and turn their power on ss they passed. :)

    Helmet Recommendation

Ahh, sounds good. We went with the mesh technology (Sena M1?) because of promise of automatic reconnecting. It does that some. Sometimes seems to need more button pressings than I would expect for this or that.

    Helmet Recommendation

Welcome to EBR LovinEbike. How do you find the Rs to be for connecting up and reconnecting when they break connection? I agree with all your thoughts on trail communication - my wife frequently tells me to stop talking or she'll shut hers off. :) (Downhill at speed on mountain bike trails...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

All principles are small things - until they're not, then all of a sudden the populace is wailing and just can't figure out what happened to x.

    Day6 delivered!

I was thinking about you and your build again yesterday. Thanks for the update. It will be fun to see.

    Helmet Recommendation

That is an incredible explanation of the difference between two things or two mindsets I have been trying to express to my wife. My wife is a part of a "mountain biking ladies" group that posts about all kinds of things including copious crashes. (Just for the record, I would crash more than...

How do I attatch a picture file in a conversation?

I frequently think of an explanation a teacher gave our class when I was a kid of how great computers are going to be. "If I knock a cup of coffee off the desk, before the coffee hits the floor a computer will do pay roll for x employees, track y, etc. etc etc. Yeah right, but, it will take...

Sorry - question about support level

Phenomenal information in this thread. I just get on the bike with two round wheels and turn the spinny thing to move forward. :) Sounds like there is a world more that I could understand and benefit from.

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

That sounds similar to what I was getting when I would let a finger drag across a brake handle and engage my very sensitive motor cut out switch.

How do I attatch a picture file in a conversation?

So perhaps in a "conversation" it takes other steps. But in posting on a "thread" I can do it in those seven steps for pictures on my phone already. I do believe one slight deviation back a few steps would allow for taking a picture after I already started typing out written content.

How do I attatch a picture file in a conversation?

Okay 7 steps the way I do it. ( There are probably scores of ways to do it.) Touch a little picture icon at the top of my input screen on my phone, when "drop an image" is presented touch it, touch "browse ", touch "gallery" , touch "camera", let it upload by %s, touch "post reply". Edit ...

How do I attatch a picture file in a conversation?

Welcome to EBR Gone2c. I just tried to post a picture from my Android phone in a private "conversation" I started with you for that purpose. It did not work in the simple way I am used to. Perhaps because as one member stated in this "thread" (that is what I am used to your post here and the...
