    Disc brake pad life?

UPDATE: So when I pulled the pads, they were totally gone (both front and rear, with the front slightly worse). Easy enough to change with the help of some YouTube videos (and I'm terrible at working on my bike - if I can do it then anyone can). I also followed the bedding instructions I...

    Disc brake pad life?

My front brakes have gotten noisy and the pads look thin (but there wasn't much pad to start with). The measurements are so small and precise that I have no way to check. I have a little over 1000 miles (1600k) on my bike, much of it at higher speeds (because it's an ebike). I don't think I...

    MISSION CONTROL APP...

For what it's worth, my bike has supported MC from Day 1 and I've only used it a few times. Unless there's some new functionality on the Vado, you're really not missing anything. Curious if others like it or find it useful in any way.

    Specialized Turbo X 2015 - Review

Unless it has been upgraded (unlikely), I believe the 2015 Turbo X had a 200W (not 500W) motor. I have the 2016 X and mine was bumped to 250W. Of course, this is "nominal" power and I don't think represents the actual maximum assist (significantly higher). Also, from what I've read, this is...

Riding a Turbo across the country

This is from back in 2015, but I hadn't seen this before: https://www.marissamuller.com/rig/ Very cool!

    Turbo (hub drive) metallic sound?

I hear a sound when pedaling that almost sounds like a wire whisk moving around in a metal pan. Has anyone else heard this? Could it possibly be related to the motor? (this is for a TurboX but it's basically the same drivetrain as all the GoSwiss/hub Turbos)

Classic. I think he might be quoting some of your responses in his next column!

    Range 100 Miles Giant Road-E.

Great post -- it's really helpful and interesting to hear about what's possible with an ebike. We had a thread on some topics like this over in the Specialized forum of EBR that you might find interesting: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/maximize-battery-spin-or-mash.13898/ To...

Turbo Owners -- What's your total mileage? [OFFICIAL MILEAGE THREAD]

@bazzapage Awesome! I have roughly 10% of your mileage!! How do you like those tires? What size do you run? Do you recommend them?

Delfast bike offers 236-mile range on a single charge!

Perhaps I missed it, but that bike looks heavy! My bike at 28+ kg is already heavier than I'd like for taking it up stairs and putting it in my car. This sucker must weigh 40 kg or more!

Turbo X became nonresponsive and has been at the shop since late July

I now have almost 100 miles on the new battery and I'm quite pleased. Performance is excellent as always and the range appears to have improved (which you'd expect with the larger battery).

    2015 ST2 vs 2017 ST2

Having a friendly LBS to service the bike and handle warranty claims is really important - isn't that part of why you'd pay extra for a bike like a Stromer?

50 miles with 4600 ft gain

I think this is a super interesting question. I know of a guy who built up a bike himself and can do a hilly 100-mile ride (at speeds much slower than 25 mph, though), so anything is possible. Supposedly the high-end Stromer can also go 100 miles on a charge. My view is that with a good...

How to properly break in a new electric bike battery and extend its life

@Court Going back to your first post, I have a new battery that I'm trying to break in properly. Do you have any idea how many times I should run it down to 50% as you suggest? Would 3-4 be sufficient or should I do it a bunch of times? (My commute requires more than 50% of the battery...

1700 miles on 2015 base Turbo (modified)

Great report. It's super helpful to see feedback from people who are really using their bikes and racking up the miles. I think it's awesome that you can use the bike to do longer rides with your daughter!

    Using E-Bike off road

Yeah, it depends on your definition. I ride my Specialized Turbo X (hybrid/city style; not MTB) on relatively smooth unpaved trails (hard-packed gravel/dirt), and it's perfect for this kind of riding. I wouldn't take it on a technical mountain bike route with bigger rocks or roots, however...

    Mission control app not connecting

@David Tucker @mods This should be in the Specialized forum - David, you'll get a lot better info in there! https://electricbikereview.com/forums/forum/specialized/

Turbo X became nonresponsive and has been at the shop since late July

OK, good news. Bike is back and the issue was the battery. It's now been replaced (with the larger battery, which is a bonus) and I'm excited to get back on the road!

New Version of Mission Control for non-Vado - V1.1.2

Thanks for sharing. I'll admit I tried Mission Control when I first got my bike but I haven't used it since. Do others use it (and for what)?
