Interested in experience of people transitioning to a frontloading cargo bike

Agreed on all the above. My 2x Vario on SC2/MC Mixte have not failed but are under-geared for an eBike in my view. That said, the complaints around Rohloff are not necessarily much better!

Interested in experience of people transitioning to a frontloading cargo bike

Interesting - LBS R&M Dealer just listed a Packster with significant discount: Riese and Muller Packster 70 Vario - Dual Battery – Christchurch Electric Bicycles Interestingly, appears to be a refurbished model:

    Charger 3 stolen.

Sorry to hear of your loss - super annoying for sure but the silver lining is the fun of experiencing a new bike…. I’d be super interested in your experience and thoughts on a Pinion gearbox vs the Rohloff…. I have a Rohloff on my non-electric gravel adventure bike but really do think Pinions...

    Shorter cranks on SuperCharger 2

https://samuelmcneill.com/2024/11/08/massive-knee-injuries-change-everything-why-ive-not-been-blogging-recently/ A cathartic retelling of my knee injury and subsequent journey. I’ve zero expectations anyone reads it fully, but if you’re suffering insomnia this may help a little…the good news is...

Interested in experience of people transitioning to a frontloading cargo bike

I do have a dealer close (where I bought my R&M SuperCharger from, but they would likely not do a super extended test ride (e.g. an over night) as it will clock up km's on a product someone else will want to buy "for new". They were talking about their partnership status changing with R&M which...

Interested in experience of people transitioning to a frontloading cargo bike

Not so sure about that comment - in NZ where I live if I spec'ed a Load with a Rohloff+HS Bosch it would exceed NZD$20,000! (USD$12K) so it's absolutely in the small car price range.

Interested in experience of people transitioning to a frontloading cargo bike

Hi Guys, Every now and then I entertain the idea of getting a front loading cargo bike like the R&M Load to perhaps replace by R&M Supercharger 2 I'd be really interested in the experience of anyone who has gone to something like that and if they've had any regrets etc. A few things (in no...

    Superdelite5

Hmm not my cup of tea in terms of aesthetics but then they do say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I just can't look beyond how they've tried to 'hide' the motor in the bottom of the frame like that ... all the Pinion bikes I've seen look svelte so this seems overkill. It feels...

    Touch up paint

After initially being frustrated with paint chips on my bikes, I’ve decided they’re part of the bike’s personality now and just accept them as evidence of well used bikes 😉

MY23 Riese and Muller Supercharger 2 GT Rohloff - 53cm - Warm Silver Matt

It’s a great set up either way - you’ll have a ton of fun! I’ve gone with this for my rear rack/bag option: https://aeroe.com/ Using that rather than a seat post bag as means I could mount on my eMTB that has a dropper post as well if wanted to. One system, could go on my R&M, eMTB or...

MY23 Riese and Muller Supercharger 2 GT Rohloff - 53cm - Warm Silver Matt

It’s looking awesome mate! Especially the custom frame bag - sounds like an exciting adventure in your future. Can I ask a question? Given the hauling power of the eBike and fact you’ve got front fork panniers on your bike, going super aerodynamic probably not the #1 factor in terms of bags…...

MY23 Riese and Muller Supercharger 2 GT Rohloff - 53cm - Warm Silver Matt

Looking really good mate! I was thinking about front fork storage for my gravel bike. I usually ride with a water bladder backpack which is great for fluid hydration, but also means carrying up to 3kg on your back when it's full. I was thinking about storing water on the forks so may look at...

First R&M Sighting in the Wild

I’m also in South Island (chch) and took about 3-6months to spot another one… in fact it was a pair, with stunning custom pink paint jobs: I saw quite a few more in Switzerland & Germany in January this year

MY23 Riese and Muller Supercharger 2 GT Rohloff - 53cm - Warm Silver Matt

C Could you have placed your wheels on the 'rail' to the right of the stairs and used walk assist mode to walk it up the smooth part of the stairwell? I have a Rohloff on my custom bikepacking gravel bike (not electric) and was also disappointed to get an oil leak around the 2K mark. ruined...

MY23 Riese and Muller Supercharger 2 GT Rohloff - 53cm - Warm Silver Matt

The irony was I riding a very, very safe trail at slow/moderate speeds so it’s inexplicable how it happened and the injury is completely disproportionate to the risk unfortunately. Knee pads would likely be great protection against abrasions and impact injuries. I suspect I must have applied...

MY23 Riese and Muller Supercharger 2 GT Rohloff - 53cm - Warm Silver Matt

Great looking bike - enjoy! I’ve got the Matte Curry version and love it so much. Sadly, I’ve not been able to ride it for seven weeks after falling off my eMTB and rupturing my quadriceps tendon. I needed a surgical knee reconstruction and looking at 9-12months for full recovery. 😔 This is...

I love that bike shops are engaging customers in a way like this -high engagement. I wish my LBS did this stuff.
