Nice 1-Hour Juiced CCX Fitness Ride

Took out the CCX today for a really nice ride on a portion of our Mountains to Sea trail in Orange County, California. It was about 75F today and the bike paths and roads are very clean after a few days of storms and a few days of street/path sweeping. Ride stats: Miles: 23.23 Elevation...

    Yet another CCX owner

"The hub drive is good enough for 80% of my rides and the range is AWESOME!" Link - on what type of rides does it disappoint? Just curious. I haven't found any shortcomings in my limited rides. I took it up an extremely steep hill - one that I dread on my road bike because I have to gear all...

    Yet another CCX owner

I took my CCX out three separate times today. I just love riding it. One thing I learned - it's VERY hard to ride with one hand! My son and I went to play basketball and I held the ball in my left hand. That meant no throttle. It was incredibly difficult to ride the CCX with a basketball! I...

    I hate your ebike...

I actually ran into this situation just today on my CCX. I was cruising along at around 14mph on the bike path enjoying the sunshine down here in Southern California for the first time in a few days after some storms and a roadie road along me and said "must be nice cheating like that!". I...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

300W in zero mode? That's supposed to be no assist. I can't recall but I think you have the CCS controller in your CCX, correct? So you're actually in ECO mode on Assist 0. I'll look at ECO tomorrow and report back. I know in S mode last week I was in the 900w range for a brief time.

Los Angeles. Sorry about that Bruce. Sometimes we refer to it as the Southland down here.

please recommend Class 3 electric bike for 9 mile commute to work

You're in SoCal? So am I. I bought a Juiced CCX - $2500. They are based out of San Diego. Mine tops out around 30mph, 750w geared hub rear motor, 52V battery. I did a 25 mile ride at an average of 21mph the other day with a 1000ft climb and used maybe 20% of the battery. I've been very...

DIYEBOARD stole $874 USD from me - no product received! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM scam alert

Can't you just file a claim with your credit card company? I use American Express and I've probably had to do this 2 or 3 times in the past 20 years. They've always come through and I never had to absorb the charge. It sucks and it's a pain to do but my results have always been positive...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Thanks Luis! I will tell you that mine was attached very poorly. It was not tightly fitted to the controller and stuck out quite a bit. I'm also wondering why there's a heatsink on one side only. Glad that I reattached it installed it. Good job @youth! You were correct, sir! (Luis - how long...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I don't think that's the purpose. It's thin and they wouldn't use double-sided tape if it was a heat sink. The tape would melt. I don't think the ECU gets hot at all but I can't positively state that as I haven't tested it. Also, it did make it a nice tight fit once it was in place - without...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Well I replaced the CCX controller just now. It took about an hour. All in all, it's not a terribly difficult process. Don't kid yourself watching their "how-to" video and thinking you could take care of it in 10 minutes. I did that originally but thankfully Andy posted his experiences and...

E-bike bursts into flames on Australian hill climb

It bothers me too, Steve. I have this huge 52V pack and I really don't know much about it. Supposedly it utilizes Samsung 18650 batteries but I have no idea and I don't want to take it apart. I only charge outside and on the bike but it's sitting in my garage now. I know there are millions...

E-bike bursts into flames on Australian hill climb

That incident with Tesla was an interesting one. Almost all of the Tesla fires have been because the battery was punctured including one where the battery apparently spontaneously caught fire but later was found to have a bullet in the battery pack. Tesla has a sophisticated battery fire...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Thanks Andy! I brought my CCX in today from the garage and checked it out. I see the three rubber strips. So those slide in and out? Almost seems like they would pop in and out of an indentation in the downtube. I pushed the lowest one down slightly and it did't budge. And you have to remove...

E-bike bursts into flames on Australian hill climb

This is a little disconcerting but without details we don't know if this was a cheap homemade battery retrofit with a used geared hub motor constructed by a friend of the rider (or the rider himself) with little attention to detail. I do keep my battery on my Juiced CCX and keep it in the...

Thanks for this writeup Andy! I read through the PDF and watched the video and it looked like a piece of cake. I've got about 1000 zip ties we bought in one of those Costco bundles a long time ago and it's almost comical how many times we've used them! So handy. Your advice about routing from...

No Bafang used by mainstream bike manufactures.

Nice writeup Timpo. "Does Juiced have a third party auditor to conduct a survey every time someone makes a phone call to customer service or purchase their bikes? As far as I know, nobody contacted me for a feedback." Since I've purchased my CCX about a month ago I always receive a feedback...

Stromer still viable in the USA?

This is quickly becoming my favorite feature of my Juiced CCX. I took it for a road ride yesterday and maybe used the throttle from stoplights or stop signs a dozen times. It's a large heavy bike and just flipping the throttle to get upright and moving quickly across the intersection is a...

Always On Daytime Running Lights...May have screwed up my CCX controller

My mistake. I read "the display light" as being an issue with the display. I now understand it's an issue with enabling the headlight with the display button. Not as bad as I originally thought.
