My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

RHouser thanks. I saw that video. The screws in that video are self-tapping into the plastic MIK plate. The plate shipped with those screws, some fender type washers, and plastic puck type things. The Turbo Basket, however, came with hex head machine thread bolts, washers, and nylon locking...

My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

rhouser, tell me about the Turbo Basket. I bought a Turbo Basket with a MIK base.....the self tapping screws seem to be too long, and they are missing washers. Did you find some washers to make it work or am I missing something? I just got Haul ST. This bike is really trippy. Super powerful. I...

Has anyone put carbon rims on a Vado SL 5.0 EQ Step-Thru?

What was the verdict on the ride quality of the carbon wheelset on the Vado SL? I have this same bike and it does have an old school aluminum ride quality in the rear, that is to say it's very stiff. I put 42c tires on the bike and that helps, but if a rear carbon wheel could damp some of the...

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

I can’t comment on the 38s because I bought this bike 2nd hand with the 42s already installed. The previous owner simply said the 42s were more comfortable. These tires handle well. I like to ride fast and do slalom moves and hop curbs. The tires feel supportive and sure. They don’t squirm...

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

Ras Cnoic, Merry Christmas! Sorry I didn't see your question until now. I don't have fenders, so I can't answer your question about fenders/mudguards, but I have attached photos. The larger 42c tires take up some space. And thank you for noticing the rear light. I did not think of that problem...

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

I found that I can ride at 24-25 mph on this bike with some effort. 28 mph is quite difficult to achieve and maintain on level ground. I am happy with 24-25 mph though. This is faster than I can do on a road bike in full spandex, in an aerodynamic position. I can do a fast speed on the Vado SL...

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

Did that KS eTen Dropper arrive yet? How did it turn out?

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

I'm also looking at the PNS Coast dropper which "combines ride smoothing suspension and the benefits of a dropper into one seat post." This post has external routing. The suspension aspect intrigues me because the Vado SL does not have much compliance built into the rear end. It's a stiff riding...

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

I am looking at the Trans-X Jump seat ($99 usd) and the Kind Shock 2021 KS eTen 100mm Dropper Seatpost Post with Lever ($140 usd) Those two posts are the only dropper posts I see with a lever under the seat.

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

Stefan I'm going to buy a dropper like you have. A proper dropper with a thumb lever will be too difficult to install properly. There is no access into the frame from the right side unless a hole is drilled into the frame, and that's where a cable would need to go. But I decided a dropper is...

    Like a Boss.

The Creo intrigues me. I went out on the Vado SL and tried to put in a good time to work. I found I could maintain 24 mph (38 kph) consistently, but much more than that seems quite difficult at the moment. I am guessing a Creo with some drop bars would allow for more speed.

I did find a Vado SL. So now I have an electric eMTB and an electric street bike. I feel very fortunate.

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

Yea that's rad, and it's better than no dropper (referring to not having the bar lever).

    Specialized Vado SL dropper

I bought a Vado SL 5.0. I really like this bike. I'm going to commute with it soon and answer the question of if I can ride at 25-28 mph on an upright bike for the duration of time it takes to get to work. In the mean time I want to know if anyone has put a dropper on this bike? I see that the...

GrayFox that's rad that you are riding into your eighth decade. So rad.

Curious How many Vado SL Owners & reviews after several miles riding

GrayFox that's so rad. I want to keep riding along when I am in my eight decade. Awesome. Recontra, that helps. I've been thinking about this and I think what I want is that 25-28 mph (40-45 kph) range, sustained. That's an area I really couldn't achieve without a group of cyclists road bike...

Curious How many Vado SL Owners & reviews after several miles riding

I do find I can get to 20 mph (32 kph) easily on my Trek Rail with 2.6 sticky rubber MTB tires, but as I mentioned I does take considerable effort to hold it there. And I realize that some of the other markets outside of USA have different limits. That's dumb. Even on the trail I find limits on...

Curious How many Vado SL Owners & reviews after several miles riding

Hello Recontra. Thanks for posting some thoughts about your Vado SL. I'm looking for a street ebike. I ride an eMTB and it's so rad. It is limited to 20 mph and it will hold at that speed on the road, but it's not easy with the MTB tires. I want perhaps put some slicks on it and commute, but 20...

    Like a Boss.

I’ve got a Trek Rail eMTB. It’s a pretty rad bike. Definitely a game changer for my local riding. I can two two laps of the nearest gnarly trail in less than half the time that it took on my analog bike. Super sick. I was gonna put some slicks on it to commute, but I’m thinking about finding...
