Beauty stores have topcoat clearcoat gel that sets with UV. You can also get matt finish UV gel. That said, some people say that when you buy a new bike toss it over to get that out of the way so you can ride it without worry of beauty and perfection.
When I need to restore a bike I will often mix three to five colors of nail polish. For some reason people like to rub their shoe on the top tube even on brand new mid-step bikes. All it takes is a pebble. I have a whole drawer of nail polish.
Thanks for asking. I put a more comfortable seat on that bike yesterday. That Diety is super wide and has an 80mm rise. You will need to use the existing mounting hardware. A needle nose vice grip will prevent the lock barrels from twisting or it is a huge pain. You can use a reducer shim from...
When Dillon plugged in at New Port '65 people freaked. The good bikes still need to be played like a guitar. But they are electric. Santana can play an acoustic. I am happy he went electric. That's how I feel when riding good electric bikes.
I work at a dealer for many brands and work on all eBikes 50 hours per week and do a few custom builds on my days off. I built my first Ramblas out of box today, then test rode it. I like it. This will sound weird; If you build it yourself remove the O-rings from the brake post hex cap screws...
Hey, @Jeremy McCreary. How's the bike? I rode a lesser yet popular torque sensor bike today like the way your bike likes it at 70+ cadence and it was a surge and lurch dud. I ride a S. Vad 4.0 about four times per week. Better bikes are like better guitars, including the great masters. Riese &...
People get flats here all the time. There is more than one daily rider who have not gotten any in three years riding eCargo tires from Schwalbe, called PickUps. Check your sizing. Three to five times better than Slime is a product from Muc-Off. It forms polymer strings that fill a puncture. At...
Sauvingon crossed with Cabernet Frank makes for Cabernet Savuingon grapes. The Frank holds up to wild game. I sent a case of $120 bottles to an Alaskan big game hunter from Sonoma packed in ice packs. Instead of heading north, it sat on a FedEx tarmac in Atlanta on a 120F day and the corks...
@Dewey, You have gone deep. I was merely saying that a bike that has a similar configuration and feel can be had for less. I am a Pashley fan, yet the economics of having frames built in Asia where they do it best is far too compelling to overlook. I get it. If your socks were made by hand by...
It is an Asian made hub drive. With an X35. And a proprietary fit battery, so you are so totally screwed. It is essentially a rebranded T1ST. That sucks. The tweed is cool. The bike is Walmart. Walmart in Lion's clothing.
I am working on a gravel cyclocross bike today that has the best mechanical disc brakes I have so far seen. They are Hayes CX Expert. You can dial them in within 1mm to each side and they have strong leverage.
Just for fun, we do a monthly group ride. I proposed the draft route that was later revised and improved, so I get to lead the ride this month. The theme is to show off a newly repaved section where bikes take the full lane. In a subsection of that street we have a grant to do pavement murals...
@PCeBikerebiker,
Before you crack that tube of grease look into automotive ceramic purple brake parts lube. Check the water resistance and temp ratings.
I just build my first Vado SL (super light) '23 today out of box. What a pleasure to work on such a lovely bike! 1) Make sure that the routing is totally clean at the handlebar (HB). Check that noting is crossed or weird. That is easy to make messy by the way it is packed with a twist with the...
@harryS, My service manager is a man of pride and does not like to admit defeat. That bike came back in today for us to make whole. It would be less expensive to buy a new disposable Cyberbike then to spend another minute on its repair. It is intended to market and sell, not to maintain.
That is a really tough question. Is it really asking what it is asking? Total operational system magnets? That would include brake cutouts. Or just about the cadence sensor, or speed sensor, or only the magnets deep within the motor's windings.
That bike died today with frozen pedals. The throttle works. We may have to try to buy this unbranded motor and have contacted the company. We also do not know if it was working when it came in because we turned our noses at the battery and did not pre-test it.
