Pedal faster/harder??? Seriously, there are various ways to override the built in speed limit on these bikes... some of them are very easy and involve either moving or replacing the magnets for the speed sensor, and others (which are the better solution) require removing the motor...

From the photo and the description, it's pretty obvious (at least to me) that you need a 1/2" driver. It'll fit on the driver exactly as a socket would.
