Volt Bike Mariner 2016: So far so happy! Observations as they happen.

No, my display shows Power/Wattage in both throttle and PAS modes. I was just saying that if I was using purely throttle, those were the wattages I observed.

@Josh88 & @ace20ri Is your battery firm, or is it loose like in Court's video review? Just curious. My Yukon 750 battery is tight and does not rattle at all; and I have been off-road on rough terrain a lot. Battery is still tightly seated.

    Mariner

Interesting... my Yukon 750 does not do that. At any PAS level (except 0), my throttle gives me full power until I reach the speed limit for that PAS, then the power drops off. You can change the "HDP" setting in the advance settings if you want to try it. Check out this thread...

Volt Bike Mariner 2016: So far so happy! Observations as they happen.

Were you able to confirm this? If true, this may be useful. I don't like cruising for extending periods at full 32km/h (inefficient), so it may be useful to specify max throttle to match PAS level. Currently, I just adjust my throttle manually to keep cruising below 25 km/h but is difficult to...

@Josh88 Love the matte black. Looks amazing fenderless and rackless. Very clean and lighter. I have the "Limited", and was thinking about removing my fenders & rack but kept it on for function. It does work very well on wet roads and carrying lots of things in the pannier, etc. But I still...

Volt Bike Mariner 2016: So far so happy! Observations as they happen.

Another observation is that my "Power/Wattage" shows that on throttle only (no pedaling): 32 km/h uses around 500W 25 km/h uses around 250W Conclusion: 32 km/h is only 28% faster, but uses 100% (double) the wattage! I can greatly extend my range simply going a bit slower. In practice, I...

Yes, videos will be great. I don't think there are any owner Yukon 750 videos anywhere. I rode around 800 kms already, and really like it. As you may have seen in my other thread, I like to keep it as "clean" as possible without loading it with too much accessories. However, the default rack...

RadRover owner - Review videos inside!

Agreed. I could not justify buying those really "nice" proprietary design bikes for US$3,000-7,000. Court interviewed a whole bunch of them at Interbike. Seems risky to invest in something at those prices with proprietary designs. I am just really glad www.RadPowerBikes.com and...

M2SBikes.com - anyone heard of them?

I just noticed them: https://shop.m2sbikes.com/ They seem to have pretty decent looking bikes with 48v 17 Ah battery for a decent price (especially with good size battery). Good selection of styles as well (even an electric Road Bike). Seems to be a new start-up with bikes shipping around...

RadRover owner - Review videos inside!

For comparison, on the Yukon 750: 1) 12 magnet sensor (very responsive motor on/off... almost makes the brake cut-off unnecessary); vs. 6 magnet on the RR 2) 10 levels (0-9) of Pedal Assists (PAS); vs. 5 levels on the RR 3) Integrated downtube battery (newer, more contemporary design) 4)...

@mrgold35 Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. I agree with all of them. The Yukon 750 also have some advantages over the Radrover, but I agree with your list. Sometimes, it is hard to notice the little things until you've actually own and experienced the bike for a few months.

A friend is interested after seeing my Yukon 750 and comparing it to the Radrover. Since I don't have experience with the Radrover, may I ask what those little extras were that made you choose the Radrover over the Yukon 750? Thanks.

Yes, love your videos. I watched them all even before this post. Keep them coming! I actually don't have the Radrover, but instead, I have the Voltbike Yukon 750. A very similar bike (same Bafang G06 750W fatbike) at a slightly lower total price (US$1,499+70 shipping). I posted lots of...

Pedego Trail Tracker vs Voltbike Yukon 500W Limited

Yes, my Yukon 750 is limited to 32 km/h with throttle only. With pedalling, I can go much faster. Also, there is no wattage indicated anywhere on the bike, 500W or 750W. George from Voltbike did reply that it is a 750W motor, peaking at 850W. However since I have the Canadian compliant...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

@ace20ri Nice looking bike. Your wait is finally over! Black does hide the cables nicely. Don't forget to turn the seat clamp around, otherwise you'd be squeezing the solid front of the seat post instead of the back where the slit is.
