How do i delimit my EVO Cross? Is it simple to do for a novice?

So from what I and others have been able to deduce from the available information, the Dapu motors on BH bikes have been wound (as in copper windings inside the motor) to run at a certain RPM under load at a set voltage. So, an EU 29er gets a 29er motor wound to run at ~25km/h at 36V under...

Evo 29er: the hunt for a second wheelset and/or new rims

Hmm. They are on Dropbox. I tried with a couple browsers and a proxy service and they work for me, I'll try another service. Here are the direct links: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

Evo 29er: the hunt for a second wheelset and/or new rims

Out for a test ride with the new Blunt 35 front wheel. I really like the rim so far, it lets me reduce air pressure from 1.5 bar (21psi) to 1.2 (17) easily, since the wider rim has more air volume in the tube and tire. I also swapped the Maxle Lite for a Maxle Stealth, which works with the XC 32...

Evo Jumper 27,5 battery charger connector

Nope. It's a proprietary plug and nobody knows the name, even though the charger is a generic Chinese product easily available on Alibaba in a dozen plug variations, the Easy Motion plug is not among them. The plug even has a sort of seahorse logo on it, but I couldn't find out who it...

Evo 29er: the hunt for a second wheelset and/or new rims

Here's the front wheel fresh from the builder. I ordered a spare rim too, now to find someone to rebuild the rear hub motor into the Blunt 35. Rim Velocity Blunt 35 made in USA, spokes Sapim Strong made in Belgium, hub Hope Pro 4 15mm made in UK, with sealed cartridge bearings made by INA in...

    2016 evo 27.5

The Nitro limit of 45km/h is 27mph, so I suppose they could just be selling Evos with Nitro electrics now, but that would make them Speed pedelecs. Previously the 350W motors probably just couldnt go faster than 25mph with hard pedaling due to wind resistance. The Euro Nitros will only go...

    2016 evo 27.5

BH were wise to launch the US Evos with the Euro Nitro specs (500W 48V), but with a 20mph limit. I've coveted the US spec bikes for a year now, and even though you get less variety in models, their speed, power and price is enviable compared to the Euro originals, which have to conform to much...

Easy Motion Street: System Power Cuts Out

I got a couple random shutdowns for the first time in a year's riding a few weeks ago. I did some random shutdown diagnostics of my own, but the actual cause remained a mystery. Never had my Evo 29er shut down on me before, never got any error codes. Best guess is the battery chemistry was...

    Sparks from battery cradle

Always plug the charger into the battery first, then to the wall outlet. When done charging, unplug the charger from the battery first, then the wall. Don't know why you'd get sparks from the cradle prongs though, they're too far apart for low voltages to arc over.

Evo 29er: the hunt for a second wheelset and/or new rims

Update on rims: I've decided to go with the Velocity Blunt 35, which has a 29mm internal diameter compared to the 16mm for the OEM Alex DM18. The blunt 35 is one of the few 29er 622 / 700c rims available at over 25mm and in a 36 hole config. Earlier I already bought one new Shimano M758 15mm...

Did any emotion owners in US faced these spoke problems?

I haven't had any spokes break on my Evo, but both wheels were out of true when I got the bike brand new, and the rear wheel still is a little, even after two different shops took a crack at truing it. I'm in the process of getting wider rims, since the OEM Alex DM18 is way too narrow for the...

    EASYMOTION WIRELESS BLUETOOTH CONTROL

Well, an iPhone 5S battery is 6Wh, an iPhone 6S is 6,5Wh and 10Wh for the Plus model, and your higher end e-bike battery is typically 400-500Wh depending on the model. The 6S 6,5Wh battery claims to last about 8 hours of average use, so lets halve that for your use, which means 4 hours on 6,5Wh...

    Easy Motion Manuals

I already commented on that video. :D The arm wont get lost or misaligned when the bolt that holds it on has been properly tightened, and you never remove it to begin with. I suppose, depending on the tolerances in milling of individual parts and the alignment of the bolt hole, the arm might be...

    Easy Motion Manuals

Thanks. I checked out the new manuals, and the spanglish is still a tad difficult to follow. But I really dislike the way they tell people to remove the "safety clamp" aka torque arm when removing the rear wheel. There is NO NEED to do this, and this also messes with the brake caliper bracket...

Winter battery cover FLIR One measurements.

So here are some FLIR One infrared imaging photos of my EVO 29er 2015. Maybe this will be of interest to some people, as there have been some questions about the usefulness of neoprene or custom battery covers/jackets. UPDATED with official BH Easy Motion neoprene Winter Cover measurements...

    2016 Jumper - no throttle

BH use a half-grip throttle which would seriously compromise your grip on a full sus bike like the Jumper. They could have a thumb throttle in its place, but oh well.

    Speedometer way off

The older Euro displays (with battery bars) have no kph/mph feature, but have a walking assist feature.

    Speedometer way off

You need to find roughly the right wheel size that matches the GPS at full speed (full assist is easiest for this). Then fine tune it in either direction by using the measuring tool in google maps (desktop) to mark a safe path you can follow, at a set length like 5 mi, ride that path back and...

Fenders for Evo 29er, a monster.

I just discovered this winter cover offering from Fahrer, should fit Evos too, since the downtube circumference is about 31cm. http://www.fahrer-berlin.de/e-bike/fahrer-akku-cover/akku-cover-tube.html?___store=english
