    Advice for buying an E-Bike.

My bike is not practical to be pedaled? Whoever told you that doesn't have any idea what they're talking about.. A Bomber has a thousand dollar pedal gearbox that shifts like butter, and is in fact the best gear changer in all of electric bicycling. I pedal my bike all the time, and irregardless...

    Advice for buying an E-Bike.

Basically you're saying you're not coordinated enough to chew gum, and walk at the same time. All you can do is walk, or in this case pedal.

    Advice for buying an E-Bike.

My sons Neo Carbon, which is an Easy Motion bike, has both a throttle and pas. The problem with the throttle on it, is it cuts off at 20 mph, while the pas keeps working till about 25 mph. This is further evidence pas is just a legal dodge around 20 mph limits. I have yet to hear one good...

    Advice for buying an E-Bike.

I must confess, that my son always rides his Neo Carbon on the pedal assist, and he snoots my Bomber for being Throttle only. He's a real bike snob though lol.

    Advice for buying an E-Bike.

A throttle is already a superior form of infinitely variable pedal assist. If your bike has one, any other form of assist is redundant and unnecessary. All eBikes would have throttles if not for certain artificial legal limitations. PAS was invented as a way to get around those limitations, but...

    Advice for buying an E-Bike.

Throttle all the way. Pedal assist is just a legal dodge to help get around 20 mph limits. Anything you can do with pedal assist, you can do better with a throttle, but not the other way around. With a throttle you can start off from a stop without pedaling, with pedal assist you cannot. Some...

Let's see your best pic of your electric bicycle

I did notice that, but I forgot to mention it. That's a nice feature to have on an electric bike.

Let's see your best pic of your electric bicycle

Really nice, clean looking bike bikerjohn. Looks like a joy to ride, when there's not 8 foot on snow on the ground lol. I like your fenders too.

Someday I'm going the find the right bike for these baby's.

I've been doing a Handle Bar comparison on my bike.

Those are interesting bars. I actually have a pair very similar to them, but I couldn't use them on my bike without an adapter, because they're a different clamp size. I think they're very spacey looking though, and thought something like that might look good on my bike too.

    The Competition: Gasoline Powered Bikes

I think from now on we're slowly going to be seeing the waning of the gas bikes, and the rise of the eBikes. eBikes have a lot more going for them than the gas kit bikes. Since buying my eBike I hardly ever ride mine anymore. On the rare occasions when I do I can't help thinking what a poc it is...

    The Competition: Gasoline Powered Bikes

The price does make them pretty popular. Here in Dallas I'm lucky to be able to say I've run across about an equal number of gas bikes as eBikes, but the eBikes I've seen at large have taken a lot less time to find. Roughly about 8 of each. But it took 4 years to run across the gas bikes, and...

I've been doing a Handle Bar comparison on my bike.

Another important thing to consider when buying new handle bars is the clamp size. There's 3 main sizes. 22.2 (7/8 inch) 25.4 (1 inch), 31.8 (1 1/4 inch) The most common is 25.4 mm

I've been doing a Handle Bar comparison on my bike.

Handle bars come in all kinds of styles, and sizes. Nothing has more impact on the appearance, and feel of a bike than it's handle bars. Personally I don't like to reach very far to my bars, because it puts too much pressure on my wrists, but at the same time I want an alert riding position, and...

Speed Hack - no more limited by 27MPH cutoff ??

I guess I'm the perfect guy to answer this question Calvin, considering that's exactly where I came from. For the last 4 years I've been building, and riding gas powered motor bicycles using motor kits exactly like that PK80 kit. The Texas DPS considers those kind of bikes to be bicycles. Most...

Charging Question: Every Time You Ride?

My experience with Lithium battery's is pretty limited, so I definitely don't claim to be an expert. I've also read that limiting maximum charge extends battery life, but wouldn't discharging to greater than zero be the same as reducing the depth of charge? In other words, don't discharge all...

Charging Question: Every Time You Ride?

For lithium battery's, depth of charge is more important than the number of charges. Your battery will supposedly last longer with a lot of little charges, than fewer deep charges. The thinking is if you charge after every ride your battery will last longer , because the depth of the charges...
