16" Rad City too small, 19" too big?

I'm still setting up my 19" RadCity in my living room waiting for the ice and snow to be finally gone. I'm 5'-11" and I also wish the stand over clearance was a little more. I now understand why many complained that the 2017 20" model was too tall. I think once I get used to it, it should be fine.

    Aloha from Minnesota

Hey Jim, still online? It's been over a year since I started thinking about e-bikes. My finances have improved so I'm almost ready to climb onboard. I have a new favorite bike: the RadCity. With Winter coming, I'm tempted to order one now and just have it in my living room with flashing...

    Latest upgrade to Rad City

Hey Mr. Zip I was wondering why you didn't just replace your existing headlight. Is it hard to wire in? How have your spokes been holding up?

Need Reliable And Established Parts Suppliers

It's been awhile since I've posted here and I'm thinking of building my own custom eBike. Considering what a new eBike costs, with none of them being perfect, I'm thinking why not just buy parts and build what I want. I'm at retirement age with a number of skills I've picked up over the years...

    A Battery Standard?

I think you're right about the current situation. I still think that the battery form factor should be standardized. There are plenty of other ways to set yourself apart besides the form factor of a battery. Once you lock yourself into a proprietary system your stuck for the life of that...

    A Battery Standard?

Thanks Dunbar, I went to Bafang's well developed website and will look more closely at their motor. In my opening post I mentioned my experience with cordless tools, and on further thought all of those tool were geared tools and they would still work if I could replace the battery. So maybe I...

    Idea For New Sub-Forum

I think it would be cool for the 'Electric Bike Review' forum to ad a new sub-forum to "Ebike Advanced Forums" titled "Ebike Technology". This sub-forum can be organized into other sub-forums: Batteries; Motors; Lights; Derailleurs; Brakes; and Accessories, etc.. It's just an idea I had and...

    A Battery Standard?

I didn't realize my thread had so many replies. I haven't been notified by email and I should have been. Thanks for the conversation. Below I'll deposit a few more droppings. I really like the CrossCurrent design and the only problem I have with it is the hub motor. Gears just don't work for...

    A Battery Standard?

The more I research eBikes the more I'm thinking about batteries. I've been involved in the remodeling business for almost 40 years and I've used every type of cordless battery tool that has come along. I can understand why cordless tool makers would want to use proprietary batteries with their...

    Motor Types and Bike Makers

I plugged it in and saw what I was looking for. At the top of the list was the Vintage Electric Bikes - Cruz. Last week I saw that bike being tested by Jay Leno at his garage. He did a great Pee Wee Herman laugh. That's a cool looking bike, I love it. It's not quite my style but the other bikes...

Thanks Ann and everyone. I'll plug that in and take a look. :)

Hello from Everywhere! Friends and Visits?

Thanks Court. I have your YouTube channel listed in favorites and check it almost daily to see what's new. One problem I have is that I weigh about 100 more pounds than you do...235lbs. Maybe you could put on a 100 pound backpack to try bikes and see what happens. :)

    Aloha from Minnesota

Yeah, the RadWagon is a great concept, but I'd like a bike that is more fun, faster, lighter, handles different road and trail types with a good sized tire, and has a well designed rear rack that is attached to the frame beneath the seat using a floating attachment with two strong supports going...

    Motor Types and Bike Makers

As a life long remodeler I've gone through every type of cordless battery the tool industry has used. The new standard is Lithium-ion which I'm grateful for as they go, go, go and charge fast. I recently purchase a new 18v Lithium-ion drill that came with a brushless motor and that drill is...

    Aloha from Minnesota

I just turned 65 and live in Southern Minnesota. I've owned many bikes over the years, but over the last ten years I've gotten away from bike riding. Over a month ago I caught a video at YouTube reviewing the RadWagon and I thought it was the cats meow because it was the first introduction I had...
