    New Purion controller

@Larry Ganz You have misleadingly claimed that Intuvia is better than Purion, that Purion is a down grade, and that no one wants it. Why should I not correct you on all three statements. Your choice to only skim read through my post, just shows your ignorance to the subject. tallpaul, I...

    New Purion controller

Game for what? You clearly haven't grasped the fact that Purion is a dedicated eMTB display. It is smaller and neater than either Intuvia or Nyon, which for eMTB use represents a significant upgrade over both, and is certainly less vulnerable to damage, which Intuvia and Nyon are...

    New Purion controller

Given that Purion is designed for eMTB use, to make that statement I am guessing that you don't ride off road. I have yet to speak to or read of any eMTB owners in Europe, that would want to "downdgrade" back to either Intuvia or Nyon. In the case of Nyon, why would anyone riding off road...

    E-MTBs Excluded from Type-Approval

I don't see the problem. I would have added EAPC either in place of or additionally to pedelec. And I don't necessarily put an association between pedelec and ebike, as when fitted with a throttle (ebike) the two should be classified differently, and the bike fitted with a throttle should to...

Bosch Walk Assist in 2017 Models (Spoiler Alert: It's Crap)

Steve, have you noticed that you can stop the wheel turning with your hand? I have been able to do this on all three of the Bosch powered bikes that I have owned, and in the Swiss Alps last year, it wouldn't even move forward on the steep inclines and I had to pick the bike up and carry it.

What kind of range do you get on one charge?

Just about all of my riding is off road, and when using either of my Bosch CX powered eMTB's fitted with 500wh batteries, my range varies from 9.5 miles to 27 miles. The rides are completed using a mix of eco and tour. I never really require sport or turbo mode. My range is very subjective to...

    eMTB off road photo thread.

My time out on the eMTB has been pretty limited of late, but here are some recent photos which bring things up to date. And this is the reason that the eMTB riding time has been limited. I have been busy trying to build up my fitness level in preparation for my next trip to the Swiss Alps...

UK member, £1200 budget, for this commute

Read this review of the Woosh Karoo that I carried out last year, paying particular attention to the elevation gain and mileage achieved from just one battery charge cycle. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/2016-woosh-karoo-hub-drive.23864/ With foam grips fitted, and a suspension seat...

    Bosch CX motor software upgrade

I can't say that it interests me, and also completely disagree with the author of the article, where he states that tour mode is "frequently too weak for off-road riding". Like many people that I know who use their eMTB's off road, I hardly ever use sport mode, and other than on one occasion...

Known Issues & Problems with Haibike Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

How old is the bike, or rather which drive unit is fitted? With every Active Line, Performance Line and Performance CX drive unit that I have ever seen that has a frame mounted battery, the battery can be charged whilst still attached to the bike. I can only assume that you must have a Classic...

Same as that. If you need a throttle, buy a motorbike.

Known Issues & Problems with.. (insert make)

Rather than having a thread starter for the various make of bike, wouldn't it have made more sense to have just had a series of thread starters for each brand of drive unit. Bosch, Shimano, Impulse, Yamaha, Brose, etc. The rest is just cycle parts, so other than neglect and poor maintenance on...

tools: what do you take on a ride?

It largely depends upon where I am riding. If I am away in the Alps for example, I leave nothing to chance. Sometimes there are also a couple of extra additions, over and above.

This website slow as molassis. Just me?

From my experience over the last two weeks, the pages never load properly, and are disjointed. Example below. It seems better using Chrome, but still far from working properly.
