Very bad head shake or shimmy

My EG Zurich suffers from the same issue. keeping one finger on the handlebar eliminates the wobble, so I've lived with the characteristic for the past 5,000 miles. Recently, I put the bike on a stand and while operating the motor on the stand I noted the wobble under no-load. It seems as if the...

    Optimizing Battery Usage

After trying a more complete discharge of the battery and then recharging the battery -there may be a slight performance improvement. When the battery was new there was no appreciable loss of power on typical climbs during the first 30 minutes of use. Today, on a typical commute I continue to...

    Optimizing Battery Usage

After speaking with Paul at e-bikes of New England, he contacted Wayne -owner of EG-Bikes. They have a replacement battery available which is comprised of Sony cells. Before I bite the bullet on the $510 purchase, I am trying a deeper discharge cycle on my present battery.

    Optimizing Battery Usage

I have lithium-Ion cells in the 36V 12Ah battery pack, of which I am unsure of their brand. I believe they are supposed to have a usable life of 1000+/- recharge cycles. So after speaking with the owner of "ebikes of NE" and some blog info here and on "Bikejournal", I took a ride with a goal...

    Optimizing Battery Usage

The 36v 12Ah battery for my EG Zurich is losing reserve capacity and maybe should be replaced. I have nearly 300 recharge cycles and 5100 miles tallied. The battery seems to be running out of power more quickly than when it was new. Making a call to (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) and...

Flat tires - how much of a problem should I expect?

The controversy between "Stan's" and Slime continues? I have used both over the past several years. SLIME has proven it's superiority to me. Stan's has coagulated into a rubber mass inside my tubes during off-season storage. I get multi-year use with Slimed tubes, -it holds up without...

Flat tires - how much of a problem should I expect?

I have used "Slime" for several years now in the tubes of all bikes. Seriously good stuff! You don't need to pester a bike shop to install the stuff. You can purchase pre-Slimed tubes. Also consider buying Slime...

    Flux Bike

Crowdfunding puts a big risk and a gamble on the words and reputation of someone who is probably a stranger. All one can go by is a slick pitch and a personal penchant for a gamble and a good "deal". But there is never a guarantee except perhaps a t-shirt with a logo ... Risky, risky RISKY! I'm...

    Ebiking Compared...

I use my ebike mainly to commute to and from my job as a School Bus Driver. Although, there are other times I just like to pedal hard and travel faster than I would using a regular bike.

    Flux Bike

High on my list too. The next e-bike for me will definitely be a crank motor, under 50 pounds total weight with at least 12-20Ah battery capacity and a price tag <$2500.
