    Bosch Battery Full?

I address your misinformation below: 1. I have run the Purion, Intuvia, and Nyon controllers on my Trek, and both the Intuvia and Nyon controllers on my R&M. They all display the exact same battery and speed readouts, to the best of the display’s ability (i.e., just battery bars on the Purion...

    Bosch Battery Full?

None of this has anything to do with GPS. The factors that go into speed readouts disagreeing have nothing to do with battery capacity display. You can’t point at inaccuracies in speed and somehow attribute that to your battery theory.

    Bosch Battery Full?

This is emphatically not true and thus, misinformation. The Nyon has no idea how to observe battery voltage. It does not have any sort of calibration that needs to be done, or even could be done. This is because the Nyon does not measure battery voltage (except for its built in battery, which is...

    Bosch Battery Full?

You didn’t read my earlier post where I said, the charging % situation is totally unchanged whether charging on bike or off bike. My batteries charge up to 95% whether on bike or off. Sometimes I see 96%. Think I saw 97% once. But most of the time, 95%. I am not surprised that your non-Bosch...

    Bosch Battery Full?

Nope, my Powerfly Speed has a Nyon, as does my R&M.

    Bosch Battery Full?

This 95% charge thing happens on my single battery Trek Powerfly Speed the exact same way it happens to my dual battery R&M Delite. It’s got nothing to do with dual battery charging or not. Happens exactly the same way whether batteries are charging on the bike or off bike, too.

    Bosch Battery Full?

I did read the manuals and they said nothing about this 95%-99% thing. That said, coming from the world of consumer electronics, it is obvious to me that this behavior is intentional and is part of an effort to extend usable lifetime for the battery packs. Most consumer electronics significantly...

Charging iPhone while riding via USB port on Kiox

What you say is patently untrue. Your phone (and all consumer electronics) cares not about an overabundance of amps. Only an overabundance of voltage. Or too little current (amps). These devices draw as much current as they need and no more.

Charging iPhone while riding via USB port on Kiox

We are indeed the guinea pigs, paying for the privilege. Bosch is essentially resting on their laurels. Soon China will destroy their profit margins and they'll have to properly compete again. Here's hoping they don't simply exit the market altogether in protest when that eventually happens.

Charging iPhone while riding via USB port on Kiox

It’s definitely not 1A. At best it might be 500 mA, but even then with my Nyon it often stops charging after it starts, indicating it can’t even handle whatever current limit they set. tl;dr - ignore all promises from Bosch regarding charging your phone on Bosch bikes because for the majority...

Charging iPhone while riding via USB port on Kiox

From what I can tell, both the Intuvia and Nyon do not provide enough current at their charge port to even keep a modern iPhone battery level, let alone charge it. This is most likely a hardware limitation and I do not expect software to improve it. I have taken to strapping a usb external...

Got some pics to share of the new handlebar installed?

    New Delite?

History is full of examples of manufacturer-forced restrictions being defeated by hackers. It may take some time but I very much doubt Bosch’s restrictions and testing software will be flawless. Someone will crack it eventually. Until then, my 2018 Delite with CX motor is happy to be derestricted :)

How local bikeshops treat your online purchase?

My literal local bike shop, which is not a R&M shop, pointed out that my R&M rear wheel was laced incorrectly (related to Rohloff hub positioning) and fixed it for me. I paid for the labor, but it was cheap. They never once treated me any differently because I didn't buy the bike from them. If...

How local bikeshops treat your online purchase?

Both of the dealers you mentioned are s*it. They do not deserve your business. I hope you have other options. If you don’t, maybe you can get the manufacturer to lean on them.

Known Issues & Problems with Riese & Müller Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

You will never get the speedo & odometer to be exact as each device is not capable of being exact. Even measuring speed via GPS isn't truly exact. Each method has inaccuracies. Even the speedometer and odometer in my BMW SUV does not always exactly match what GPS says. I'd give up on that as...

    E-Bike for Shorter Folks? (4"11)

Don't have a specific brand recommendation for you, but if you can tip toe on the ground at the lowest seat adjustment, perhaps putting on slightly smaller wheels would give you that last crucial inch or two?
