Odd..Mike's Bikes had orders cancelled by Specialized ???

The European "family" that bought all 12 Mike's Bikes locations is the Pon Group. They own Univega, Focus, Raleigh, Kalkhoff, Gazelle, Cervélo, Juliana, and Santa Cruz Bicycles. The family business is also the Dutch distributor of Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti...

    General Creo questions

Measure yourself. The instructions are on Specialized’s Power Mirror Saddle web page. Sun Golds are prolific. I stopped growing them. They are delicious but produce too much. They went to waste.

2K Miles on my Vado SL 5.0!

@sinda67 You asked about the Specialized Power Mirror Saddle. Here are two photos to give you an idea of the oval carbon fiber saddle rails as mounted on my Creo. Not sure if these qualify as “side mount” rails, but they came with the S-Works Creo, are labeled “Carbon”, and are a perfect fit for...

Vado SL 5.0 downgraded to 10 speed

That is in my backyard. Those are my home trails. So many videos of Dirt Mulholland and the Santa Monica Mountains gravel roads. Hard to believe it’s all in the middle of a place like Los Angeles. I’m very lucky. Here’s another local trail on the other side of Sullivan Canyon from the first...

Creo 1X drivetrain - Has frustrated me for some time

You’ll enjoy them. They came stock with my S-Works Creo. Lifetime crash warranty included. Just wish they were offered in 650b as well.

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

True. I now recall using a Panasonic mid drive ebike on a week long tour through the Japanese countryside. It was beautiful riding in bamboo and pine forests along a coastline reminiscent of Big Sur. The bikes though were cadence sensing. They had a narrow range of power applied to a narrow...

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

Well that’s the problem right there. You only have experience with a poorly implemented hub drive and assumed that all hub drives are the same. That’s a misbelief, a misconception. They are not all the same. My Stromer ST2 hub drive is strictly torque sensing. There’s no ghost pedaling. The...

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

That seems to be the case with a lot of things. Looks like the Gain D20 will be available in a few weeks though. The other models in September. Actually, Orbeas are usually made to order in Spain. Bike Attack stocks a few, but you would typically make a custom order and take delivery later...

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

Yes. A hub drive is exactly the same as a mid drive or any other programmable motor. It is up to the firmware how much power the motor delivers in relation to how much effort the rider puts into a torque sensor. Clearly it isn’t an on/off switch. Motor power is metered to rider power. The...

At Bike Attack. Looks like Orbea has a few new ebike models now.

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

Yes. I’m not sure I understood that when I took two out for test rides though. The Gain uses the ebikemotion rear hub motor. At the time I thought it was a Fazua mid-drive-via-the-seat-tube motor.

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

Sorry. I no longer waste my time debating anti-vaxxers or anti-hubbers. You’ve become quite pedantic and proclamatory lately. Also unnecessarily aggressive and defensive even with nubies asking simple questions. I notice that some of your more uncivil posts have been deleted. By the admin? Take...

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

I‘ve ridden the Gain. I posted a review of it in the Orbea forum. I also own two Stromer ST2 hub drive bikes. (They are well made and more expensive than the Gain, if that matters.) I like the Stromers, which are torque sensing. I really dislike the Gain which uses a cadence sensor. Nothing...
