Turbo Owners -- What's your total mileage? [OFFICIAL MILEAGE THREAD]

Now done 6000 km on those Koolstop pads, I think I might replace them now. My rear brake disc has come loose with some stripped threads - will attempt to repair with Loctite thread repair. Schwalbe Energizers still going strong with 7000km, not a single puncture. All my commuting buddies on the...

    Turbo Updates

I have both the chargers you mention and they work fine on and off my MY 15 Turbo. If there is an update available you should take it and be willing to pay for an out of warranty discretionary service. With luck they'll brick your battery and have to give you a new one, eh Doug?

    The new turbo Vado 2017

    Which bike/battery do you have?

    The new turbo Vado 2017

That's NZ Dollars. Fairly similar to other similar bikes (eg Bosch-powered). It's a great bike.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

I've done some more review testing and updated my report with more photos and data. https://electricbikesnz.com/2017/06/03/specialized-turbo-vado-3-0-the-tech-savvy-younger-sister/ Good news is that the Vado 3.0 tops the leaderboard in my 'very steep road' climb, beating even a Bosch CX. I have...

Help with decision to buy 2016 Turbo!

It's a really good deal. Get it if you want a bike that is hard (harsh even) and fast... with conditions attached. If you can't get the genuine racks and fenders via your dealer you could probably put on aftermarket kit. Many do. I believe that Canadian bikes are limited to 20mph. In that...

    The new turbo Vado 2017

I haven't quite finished my review on the Vado 3.0, but I have posted it anyway pending an update and better photos later https://electricbikesnz.com/2017/06/03/specialized-turbo-vado-3-0-the-tech-savvy-younger-sister/

    Mission App for Windows PC

I can't see why there ever would be. Not many people are going to have a go at their bike via a pc. What do you feel you are missing from the Android/iPhone apps? Having said all that, I think there might be something in the works for the Vado range because that has a removable head unit that...

I'll weigh it when I get it back this coming weekend.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

Specialized has a tradition of having brightly coloured demo bikes, so that is likely what Court's bright yellow is about. I rather like it. I think they have done a nice job on the Vado, or 'open' as I read it. Hands-on, I feel that every element of the bike is slightly better than before...

    The new turbo Vado 2017

I believe so. The bike itself feels quite a bit lighter than the outgoing Turbos. The battery is surprisingly light. I am thinking about going for a 6.0, though I am perfectly happy with my Turbo + S motor + Rockshox.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

Have had first review ride on the Vado 3.0. Will hopefully have a full review done soon. What I can say now is that the ride is much better than current Turbos. But I'd rather have an S or X than the 3.0 for the speed. Will have to wait for the 5.0/6.0

    The new turbo Vado 2017

Haven't heard specifically a date, but it is imminent. It is incomplete without it.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

Haha, that's what my Turbo felt like every time I went over a bump before I put the Rockshox on!

The pricing/value of Turbo X priced at $4K compared to other bikes available now?

As Doug said. It's a much nicer bike than base Turbo or its predecessor. The MB01 motor is nice with more grunt in the mid-range than the 200W/250W would suggest.

    Swapping out the OEM headlight

I'd be keen to know too. I run a Gloworm X1 on my helmet in commuter 'pulse'mode which actually works rather well but I'd rather not have to hassle with batteries.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

The reality of current ebikes is that you buy them expecting a 3-5 year service life - maybe less if you thrash the heck out of them. If you don't like the idea of that then buy a cheap Chinese import for a few bucks and hope that it lasts 2 years.

    Replacement front chainring

The Shimano SLX 10spd has a bashguard option AFAIK.

    Replacement front chainring

Thanks @Charlie Rohlfing With my S motor I don't want to shorten the top end in any way. I quite like the gearing as is, I tend to be an 80 cadence guy and don't mind hopping out of the saddle to crank up a hill if needed. I tend to spend 70% of my ride in top gear hauling along at ~44-45kph...

    The new turbo Vado 2017

That's right, and arguably better than the Bosch. Certainly quieter. In a financially unconstrained world, that would be the right answer. I solve that dilemma by reviewing all the bikes.
