The chain on my Giant MTB also broke after about a month. It was annoying. I bought another chain and it didn't break. I've had the bike over five years and not broken one since. @Jim Laslett you have uncovered a retailer that offered poor customer service in this instance; that's all. There is...

Does any suspension fork work on the Turbo or Turbo S?

I put a Paragon Gold 65mm fork on my stock Turbo. I had to do a few mods for the fenders and the headlight, which is now mounted on the bars. I adapted a handlebar bracket originally from a cheap light. It is better to have the light higher. You can get some sort of adapter for the Paragon crown...

    Replacement chainring for 2015 Turbo

I bought one off eBay - a narrow-wide which helps with chain retention. Doesn't exactly match the outer 'bash guard' but I don't notice it. Works fine. I replaced directly with 48T but wish I had gone a little larger (50T). Search eBay for: DECKAS MTB Bike Narrow Wide Round Chainring Chain 104...

    Disc brake pad life?

@ROJA try the Koolstop pads. That's the only difference. FWIW my brakes are Formula C1 with SRAM Centerline rotors.

Rear hub disc mount a bit wobbly

Yes, Bruno. He is one-of-a-kind. He was horrified by the engineering in a Swiss-made product! Original rims yes, it is a Turbo S wheel so a nice rim. Front wheel is an original base-model Turbo wheel. Both wheels now tubeless which is very nice :-)

Rear hub disc mount a bit wobbly

For the record, I took this to a 'cycle engineering' shop and they did the following, which I hope is a permanent solution: unlaced wheel, removed motor cover/flange drilled in stainless steel inserts as deep as they could go without impacting the wheel bearing which sits behind the screw...

    Tubeless on the Vado 3.0

Did mine tubeless on the weekend with Gorilla tape, 45mm valves and Joes Eco Sealant (could have used any sealant). With the Almotion tyres it was super-easy to set up.

    Turbo S motor issues

I am failing to see the problem, you got a great upgrade. The nice thing about M03 is that it does keep going, whereas the others suffered from some resistance at around 47 if they didn't cut out.

    Best tire for the wet

Yeah, in a 175/70R15 radial! Won't get punctures in a hurry.

    Tubeless on the Vado 3.0

It shouldn't be too hard, check out the gorilla tape method on YouTube. Most rims will take tubeless especially at reasonable pressure (40psi+), it's a low pressures that 'good tubeless' rims are noticeable. IMHO it is the tyres that are most important. Tyres that aren't 'tubeless ready' may be...

    Best tire for the wet

Almotions are really great, had no problems mounting them (700c x 50). They seem much better in the wet, grip well, are very puncture proof and sing when going fast on a smooth surface. Next step is to convert to tubeless. Remains to be seen how long they last.

    Turbo Vado 6.0 ?

You can read some of my reviews on ElectricBikesnz.com The 5.0 and 6.0 have the same motor, a 1.2S. that is more powerful than the 3.0/4.0 motor. The Levo is more torquey, but couldn't handle the stresses of commuting (constant load for an hour). That's why the Vado doesn't use v1.3

    Best tire for the wet

Thanks @Ravi Kempaiah I ordered a pair of Almotions. Let's see how they go, hopefully there is enough clearance around the rear fender.

    Best tire for the wet

I've crashed off my bike twice now in the wet, when the Schwalbe Marathon/Energizer tyres lost grip and the bike slid. My knees and elbows have asked to to please get different tyres! I want a tyre that has good wet weather grip (the original Turbo Elektrak tyres were actually quite good) but I...

Replacement Batteries for 2013-2016 Turbo (non-Levo/Vado)

The RRP for the 684W battery is $1k. It's a really big capacity battery compared to other bikes' batteries. Suggest you haggle for a better price. You can however expect your battery to last quite long. The only thing that happens to LiIon batteries is that they lose capacity - so if you are...

    Specialized & Online Sales

My advice would be to find a brand that can provide service locally. Ultimately you will have the best experience that way (and this by the way is the reason Specialized do it - aftercare is considered an important thing).

    Disc brake pad life?

As @Dmitri says... Don't be afraid to use non-Shimano pads either, as long as they are compatible and not cheap (I have had situations where cheap generics are too thick and have had to shave off some pad to make them fit properly without binding). My Kool Stop pads (Formula brakes, ugh!) have...
