Differences between Turbo and Turbo S motor

Don't speculate... ask. If you have a fault then have them deal with it. It may depend on what is available in the spares pool in your country.

Differences between Turbo and Turbo S motor

Warranty, yes. Specialized and their support to my LBS have been outstanding.

"Efficiency" of Brose mid-drive vs hub

Most people's real-world experience seems to be that mid-drive bikes have better range than rear-hub bikes. my personal theory is that it is because most mid drives are torque sensors and most hub drives are cadence sensors. Torque sensors tend to have better range simply because you end up...

Differences between Turbo and Turbo S motor

My replacement wheel arrived so now I have a 250W motor. It's actually a really nice balance - I miss the sheer brutality on-tap that the 500W motor had - but overall the 250W is good. It's got more torque than the 200W and noticeably more punch through the 30-40km/h range. It loses steam much...

First Ride on my Turbo "S-Lite"

Unfortunately I will have to give the 500W wheel back some time soon. It was fun. Being replaced with 250W.

Differences between Turbo and Turbo S motor

I doubt it. If you could I imagine it would be quite expensive. Perhaps keep your eye out for a used one, swap the wheels/parts over and resell. Or get a Vado when they come out. I think they will be rather good. I'll be writing a Vado review as soon as they are available.

Differences between Turbo and Turbo S motor

I'm currently running a loaner Turbo S (500W) wheel on my base Turbo so have some insights into the differences. Everything else is the same. Honestly, I wasn't expecting such a massive difference with the same electronics and battery. * Top speed is higher. Whereas I could make the base Turbo...

How often do you replace brake pads?

I have replaced the original Formula rotors with SRAM Centerline rotors and that too makes a positive difference along with Koolstop finned pads as per @Douglas Ruby I have been considering replacing brakes but with these relatively cheap changes I can live with the Formulas. They are...

    Bashguard / Skidplate etc

It's an alloy frame so I don't think there will be any structural issues

    Broken spokes

My problem seems to have been a cracked axle tube. That is being replaced under warranty along with a full wheel rebuild. If there are multiple spokes breaking there must be an underlying cause.

First Ride on my Turbo "S-Lite"

@Douglas Ruby I have a loaner motor on because my rear axle had cracks and is being replaced. It's a SBC-M03 - trust me, you want one of these! It's a really cool way to use up those 19Ah of battery.

    Turbo Levo Rear travel

Interesting. To be fair, if you had asked me what the travel was on the Short Travel one that I tested I would have guessed around 130mm. And that's definitely 120mm. There does seem to be an anomaly in the text on the Short Travel - mentions 140mm but the specs say 120mm. As long as the fork on...

Turbo levo HT Comp Fat Bike Review [External]

The Levo FSR I rode had some really good tunability within the companion app (Mission Control). I found that I rode the bike at 40% of max output which made it a very nice all-round ride, and the battery life then was superb. 100% was great for carpark demonstrations but felt like too much...

    Turbo Levo Rear travel

The Levo with regular (2.4") tyres has shorter travel than the 6Fattie version. That's why it is referred to as "Turbo Levo FSR Short Travel Comp 29". The 6Fattie has 140mm travel. Does that clarify it? IMHO, just get the 6Fattie. I've only ridden the Short Travel version and that was awesome -...

    Crack in rear hub

@reoutput not entirely sure. I hadn't seen it, LBS picked it up when they were rebuilding the wheel.

In Depth 2015 Turbo X Review

Great story @Runnermann ! I love stories like this. Do you mind if I repost on my Blog electricbikesnz.com? FWIW I have two fast chargers and just leave one at work. The newer of the two (it was a warranty replacement when my original travel charger blew) is the one sold with the newer gen bikes...

    Crack in rear hub

Just curious, has anyone experienced a crack in the rear hub? I doubt that it is a common issue. On the plus side, Spesh is being very good with customer service. This is why we are happy owners.

"Efficiency" of Brose mid-drive vs hub

I love the mechanical aspect of those Xiongda motors. Very clever. They will likely have a niche.

"Efficiency" of Brose mid-drive vs hub

Hub drives tend to be one-trick-ponies whereas mid drives can be optimized for a wider range of situations. It is even possible that they will be better at high speeds than the GoSwiss. Let's wait and see!
